All the action in the US is now around the American polls, and the mail-in votes may help somewhat in understanding which way the country is swaying towards.

The US securities watchdog's mounting legal headaches
Gary Gensler, with knock-on implications for others on his agenda. Here's a list of rules and actions affected, according to legal filings, the SEC's agenda, and legal experts. * Nasdaq corporate board diversity: Conservative group the Alliance for Fair Board Recruitment sued the SEC in the Fifth Circuit after the agency blessed a Nasdaq rule promoting diversity on corporate boards. Gensler recently cited this lawsuit as the reason why he could not discuss progress on a similar SEC planned rule. * Proxy voting: The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals last month sided with the SEC in a case brought by trade associations including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, finding the agency was within its rights to rescind Donald Trump-era regulations on corporate elections.

Everyone who works at Tirumala should be Hindu, says newly-appointed chairman of TTD BR Naidu
B R Naidu, recently appointed chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board, announced his intention to establish a Hindu-only workforce at Tirumala, the sacred temple of Lord Venkateswara. «Everyone who works at Tirumala should be Hindu,» Naidu said in a statement on Thursday. «That would be my first effort. There are many issues in this. We have to look into that,» he continued, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the religious integrity of Tirumala’s operations. Naidu plans to consult with the Andhra Pradesh government to determine the next steps, which could involve reassigning non-Hindu employees to other government roles or offering them a Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS).

KL Rahul likely to move on from Lucknow Super Giants after alleged fallout with owner
KL Rahul has been one of the most prolific run getters in the history of the Indian Premier League. Having debuted with Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013, the 32-year-old has scored 4,683 runs in the 10 seasons that he has played. After playing just five matches in his first season, he moved to Sunrisers Hyderabad for a couple of seasons. However, his returns were average at best. 2016 proved to be the breakthrough season for Rahul, where he scored 397 runs at a strike rate of 146 in a star-studded RCB line-up that had the likes of Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, AB De Villiers and Shane Watson. Unfortunately, he had to miss the 2017 season owing to injury and was shockingly released ahead of the 2018 mega auction. King XI Punjab (Now Punjab Kings) signed the batter in the auction, and he did not disappoint. Out of the five seasons for the franchise, he piled more than 600 runs in four years, and missed making a perfect five as he fell seven runs short in 2019.

SRH IPL 2025: Travis Head, Pat Cummins among six players likely retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad, here is full list
retained players ahead of the mega auction. The rules for this year were tweaked by the BCCI with franchises allowed up to six retentions, which can include a maximum of five capped players and two uncapped players. However, retaining six players will come with a price of Rs 79 crore, which will leave only Rs 41 crore in the auction as the total purse for each team is Rs 120 crore. Further, the teams can use Right to Match (RTM) cards if with a number of RTMs equal to six minus the number of direct retentions. For example, if a team retains three players, it will have three RTMs available.

Sean Diddy to get relief? Judge says lawsuit against US rapper can be dismissed under this condition
“The fundamental question is whether Plaintiff has a ‘substantial privacy’ interest that ‘outweighs the customary and constitutionally-embedded presumption of openness in judicial proceedings,” Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil wrote in an opinion Wednesday, adding, “Defendants have a right to defend themselves, including by investigating Plaintiff, and the people have a right to know who is using their courts.” This means if the woman fails to reveal her identity, the lawsuit filed against Sean 'Diddy' Combs can be dismissed. The woman filed the lawsuit as a Jane Doe against Diddy Combs earlier this month, accusing him of raping her in 2004 when she was just 19 years old.
