Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls

Aries Agro Ltd.(up 3.53%), Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd.(up 3.03%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 2.78%), Paradeep Phosphates Ltd.(up 2.49%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd.(up 2.09%), Madras Fertilizers Ltd.(up 1.69%), Coromandel International Ltd.(up 1.38%), Rama Phosphates Ltd.(up 1.18%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd.(up 1.06%) and Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd.(up 0.68%) stood among the top gainers.

Agro Phos India Ltd.(down 2.42%), Sikko Industries Ltd.(down 1.68%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(down 0.38%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Ltd.(down 0.29%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products Ltd.(down 0.23%), The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd.(down 0.21%), Krishana Phoschem Ltd.(down 0.17%) and Gujarat State Fertilizer & Chemicals Ltd.(down 0.06%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 135.5 points at 24205.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 553.12 points at 79389.06.
Cipla Ltd.(up 9.42%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 6.28%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.95%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 1.72%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.64%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 0.88%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.78%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 0.74%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 0.67%) and Coal India Ltd.(up 0.65%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
