markets Digital Software Experts innovations Features Will English dominate machine communication? Mayank Kumar to demystify the future of coding at ET Soonicorns Summit 2024
This thought-provoking topic will be at the heart of a Fireside chat featuring Mayank Kumar, Co-founder and Managing Director of upGrad, during the highly anticipated ET Soonicorns Summit 2024, set to take place on September 20 in Bengaluru. As the summit’s theme of ‘From Resurgence to Resilience’ drives home, this session will offer actionable insights into how startups and developers can recalibrate for the future. The event, taking place on September 20 in Bengaluru, will feature other industry stalwarts such as Hari Menon, Aman Gupta, Prayank Swaroop, Sangeeta Bavi, and Umakant Soni, among others, who will engage in dialogues on the evolving funding landscape, building business through strategic reinvention, and the technologies of tomorrow. However, to fully grasp the relevance of Kumar’s Fireside chat, we must first understand the role of English in today’s programming world. English has long been the default language for most programming languages—whether it’s Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript. From syntax to function names and even documentation, English is deeply embedded in the linguistic architecture of software development. This widespread use of English in programming has removed linguistic barriers to a great extent considering English, today, has been described as the “fastest-spreading language in human history. English is estimated to be spoken by some 1.75 billion people worldwide—that’s one in every four of us. The count includes both native speakers and speakers in post-colonial parts of the world. English is also increasingly a global corporate lingua franca. Interestingly, two Indian languages are part of the world’s top 10 most spoken languages: Hindi and Bengali.

Fed policy outcome, the Nifty experienced significant volatility. In the first half, it rose towards the 25,500 levels; however, in the second half, it surrendered all gains and fell below the 25,300 levels. markets UPS Experts performer country testing Kim Jong Un calls for bolstering nuclear and conventional weapons after testing 2 types of missiles
North Korea said Thursday that leader Kim Jong Un supervised successful tests of two types of missiles — one designed to carry a «super-large conventional warhead» and the other likely for a nuclear warhead, as he ordered officials to bolster up his country's military capabilities to repel U.S.-led threats. The tests were apparent references to the multiple missile launches that neighboring countries said North Korea performed off its east coast on Wednesday, extending its run of weapons display as confrontations with the U.S. and South Korea escalate. The official Korean Central News Agency said that Kim oversaw the launch of the country's newly built Hwasongpho-11-Da-4.5 ballistic missile tipped with a dummy «4.5-ton super-large conventional warhead.» It said the test-firing was meant to verify an ability to accurately hit a 320 kilometer (200 mile)-range target, suggesting it's a weapon aimed at striking sites in South Korea.

Bombay High Court said on Wednesday that if the use of loudspeakers and sound systems beyond permissible noise levels was harmful during the Ganesh festival then it also has the same effect during the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi processions. A division bench of Chief Justice D K Upadhyaya and Justice Amit Borkar made the remark while hearing a bunch of public interest litigations (PILs) seeking a ban on the use of «DJs», «dance» and «laser lights» during the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi processions. The petitions urged HC to direct the civic bodies and police to refrain from granting permission for the use of such high-decibel sound systems. markets Target Experts show information reports What to know about the deadly pager explosions targeting Hezbollah
Hezbollah exploded almost simultaneously in Lebanon and Syria Tuesday, killing at least 12 people — including two children — and wounding thousands more. A U.S. official said Israel briefed the U.S. on the operation — in which small amounts of explosive hidden in the pagers were detonated — on Tuesday after it was concluded. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the information publicly. The Iran-backed militant group blamed Israel for the deadly explosions, which targeted an extraordinary breadth of people and showed signs of being a long-planned operation. Details on how the attack was executed are largely uncertain and investigators have not immediately said how the pagers were detonated. The Israeli military has declined to comment.

markets Highways Research Experts Justice reports testing Presence of carcinogenic chemicals in cars: NGT issues notice to BIS, MoRTH
National Green Tribunal (NGT) has sought a reply from the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), and others in a matter regarding the use of cancer-causing chemicals in cars. The tribunal was hearing a matter where it had taken suo motu (on its own) cognisance of a media report regarding the use of two flame retardant chemicals inside cars — - TDCIPP and TCEP — - which were carcinogenic. In an order passed last week, a bench of NGT Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava noted the reply of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) that it did not have the facilities to test whether these substances were carcinogenic. The bench, also comprising judicial member Justice Sudhir Agarwal and expert member A Senthil Vel, said the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) had filed a report dated September 10 where it did not take a «definite stand» on whether these chemicals were carcinogenic.
