Air Mauritius flight were stuck on the aircraft for over five hours at Mumbai airport on Saturday before the airline decided to cancel it, one among the flyers said. The Air Mauritius flight MK 749 from Mumbai to Mauritius was to depart at 4.30 am and passengers boarded the plane from 3.45 am onwards, he said. The lenders may opt for liquidation if the bids aren’t good enough, said the people cited above. The only two bids for the airline were opened Friday and resolution professional (RP) Shailendra Ajmera will now check if they are compliant with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC). Central Bank of India and Bank of Baroda are the main lenders to the grounded carrier. In the last Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, Modi also suggested all Cabinet ministers to prepare an actionable agenda for the next 100 days, they said. The ministers have been asked to submit these details to the Cabinet Secretariat in the coming days, the sources told ET. Modi has indicated that ministers should prepare the roadmap of their respective ministries for next term, they said. However, this should be done without keeping in mind who would have positions in the Cabinet after the 2024 elections.

Supreme Court has ordered the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) authorities in Uttar Pradesh to appoint a man, whose selection was cancelled in 2005 for allegedly concealing information about a criminal case against him, as a constable. The apex court noted that when the man had applied for the job on February 12, 2004, there was no criminal case registered or pending against him. However, five days after submitting the application, he got implicated in a criminal case in which he was subsequently acquitted by the trial court in September 2004. «Broad-brushing every non-disclosure as a disqualification will be unjust and the same will tantamount to being completely oblivious to the ground realities obtaining in this great, vast and diverse country,» a bench of justices J K Maheshwari and K V Viswanathan said in its verdict delivered on Thursday.

Mahindra Holidays & Resorts has entered into an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government for investing Rs 500 crore in the state and is in talks with the governments in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Jammu & Kashmir for investment opportunities, the vacation timeshare company’s top executive said. “We are in active discussions with state governments to see if we can get land parcels or existing resorts. We could also take over and refurbish existing resorts,” managing director and chief executive Kavinder Singh told ET in an interview. “If we have to go from 5,000 to 10,000 keys by 2030, our capex is going to be in the order of Rs 4,000-5,000 crore. We are really strong on our cash position.” The Mahindra Group company has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand in the past one year for investments worth Rs 1,800 crore to build new resorts.
