UPS Provident FIVE Supreme Court "amazed" at order passed by Allahabad HC, terms it self-contradictory

Supreme Court has said it is «amazed» to see an order of the Allahabad High Court which dismissed a plea by five accused seeking anticipatory bail in a criminal case but granted them protection against coercive steps for two months, terming it «self-contradictory». The high court had in May last year rejected the anticipatory bail application filed by five accused in a case registered in Saharanpur district under the provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986.

New Delhi: Union minister Jitendra Singh on Wednesday said that there was adequate insurance cover offered for nuclear incidents in the country. In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, the minister said, India has enacted Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage (CLND) Act 2010 to provide for civil liability for nuclear damage and prompt compensation to the victims of a nuclear incident through a no-fault liability regime channelling liability to the operator.

COST FIVE SECL to invest ₹169 crore on plantation drive in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh

₹169 crore for planting of various trees in its operating states of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh during the next five years, the ministry of coal said. The company has recently signed MoU with Chhattisgarh Rajya Van Vikas Nigam (CGRVVN) and Madhya Pradesh Rajya Van Vikas Nigam (MPRVVN) for carrying out plantation work in these states. According to the ministry, the plantation will be carried out for a period of five years from 2023-24 to 2027-28 with its subsequent maintenance of four years for each consecutive year of plantation.

FIVE CEO Strategy Software Tech Mahindra Q1 Results: Headcount plunges 9% by 4,103 in June quarter

Tech Mahindra announced the June quarter results on Wednesday and reported a 13 percent IT attrition rate for Q1FY24, a 9 percent increase from 22 percent in the corresponding quarter of last year. The total headcount of staff -- including software and professionals, BPO professionals, and sales and support -- stood at 1,48,297 for the quarter ended 30 June, 2023, down 4,103 quarter-on-quarter. This was a 2.7 decline QoQ and 6.2 percent YoY.
