Finance Commission, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, pointing to Delhi's «frozen» share in central pool of taxes even as he demanded that Delhi be treated as a «unique case». Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday said the aviation sector has seen an exponential growth in the last few years with the fleet size expanding from 400 aircraft in 2013 to 700 now and this number is likely to rise up to 1,500 in five years. Attending a summit here, Scindia launched UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) 5.2 programme for small aircraft, aimed at enhancing air connectivity to remote areas of the country, and a mobile application for chopper operators to seek approvals from government authorities. The UDAN 5.2 programme and the HeliSewa app were launched by the minister in Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh while inaugurating the 5th Helicopter & Small Aircraft Summit (Heli Summit 2023) and three Flight Training Organizations (FTOs). «We today started UDAN 5.2 programme for small aircraft. We have awarded 22 routes, which underlines the fact that air travel facilities are being made available to citizens living in remote areas under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,» Scindia said at the event. Speaking about HeliSewa, the minister said it is a single window service platform for helicopter operators who will be able to get all approvals from ATC (air traffic control) on mobile phone.

The proposed investment will be made either by subscribing to equity or preference shares or by way of Inter Corporate Deposits or company guaranteed debt or a combination of these and will be done at "arm's length".

Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs) have filed income tax returns (ITRs) and claimed deductions worth Rs 3,803 crore during 2022-23, the Finance Ministry said on Tuesday. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary in a reply to the Rajya Sabha provided details of the number of Hindu Undivided Families (HUF) availing tax benefits (in the form of deduction under Chapter VIA of the Income-tax Act) during the last five years. To a question on whether the government has assessed the impact of the Uniform Civil Code on tax benefits to HUFs in the country, the minister said: «No such assessment has been made as there is no such Code at present».

The report cited a notification from NHAI which states that the movement of high speed vehicles may pose risk to the safety of certain classes of comparatively slow moving vehicles such as bikes, autos, tractors, non-motorized vehicles and others. So NHAI has prohibited six categories of vehicles such as motor cycles (including scooters), three wheelers (including e-carts and e-rickshaws), non-motorized vehicles, tractors with or without trailers, multi-axle hydraulic trailer vehicles and quadri-cycles on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway.
