Sundar Pichai and '3 Idiots': Google CEO references Aamir Khan's famous motor scene during interview. But why?
Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, recently engaged in an insightful interview with Varun Mayya, a prominent content creator, at the company's headquarters in the USA. Their discussion ranged from the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) to India's role as a burgeoning market for such technologies, along with the appeal of FAANG positions among Indian professionals. What stood out in this conversation was Pichai's reference to the iconic motor scene from Aamir Khan's acclaimed movie '3 Idiots,' a moment that has captured attention for its relatability and depth. The interview, although yet to be fully released, offered a glimpse into Pichai's views on various topics. In a snippet shared on Instagram by Varun Mayya, the discussion veered towards the phenomenon of 'wrapper startups' and the competitive exam mindset prevalent among young Indians striving to crack FAANG interviews. FAANG is an acronym used for the American tech giants — Meta (Facebook), Amazon, Apple, Netflix, and Google (Alphabet). Making ChatGPT ‘sexy’ may not be the best way to make it better
Her." That was the single tweet that OpenAI chief executive officer Sam Altman posted as his lieutenants demonstrated a new ChatGPT with the same alluring vocal flourishes Scarlett Johansson used in the movie by that name about a man who falls in love with his AI bot. The most impressive thing about the new GPT-4o (the ‘o’ stands for omni) is that it can discuss what it ‘sees’ through your phone camera in real time, a skill that Google faked in a demo for its AI model last December. More startling was that it didn’t just sound human but strangely seductive.

Companies will also be disallowed from preventing negative reviews.

How a two-page CV helped this techie land a job at Google straight after her Masters!
job at your dream tech company? Sometimes, all you need is just a two-page CV to get the interviewer’s call! Contrary to popular belief, long resumes may not really find favour with the hiring manager. Recently, a techie explained why her precise, to-the-point resume which summarised her qualifications and work experience succinctly landed her a job at tech giants such as Google and Microsoft! Taking to LinkedIn, Sonakshi Pandey, a software engineer revealed how she gained her dream job right after her Masters. She revealed how, inspired by a YouTube video, she decided to make a switch from software development to solution architecture at Amazon Web Services. The position involved more public speaking and client presentations. After five years of experience, she decided to apply to Google and Microsoft in 2021. “I was very shy, very introverted. I used to wear my headphones and code for eight hours straight,” she told Business Insider. One day, she stumbled upon a YouTube video where a tech expert was speaking about databases in depth. She admired his confidence. “I want to exactly do what this guy is doing: I want to go on a stage and I want to talk confidently in front of a bunch of people,” she wrote.

Google I/O 2024 update: Android 15 Beta 2 release date confirmed; check expected features
Google I/O 2024, the spotlight shifted towards groundbreaking AI innovations, marking a departure from the usual emphasis on Android updates. Amidst these revelations, Google teased the upcoming Android 15 Beta 2 release, set to debut on Wednesday. During the keynote, Google unveiled advancements in Gemini AI, showcasing features like Google Search integration, Gemini 1.5 Pro, and the Gemini app. However, the spotlight remained on the forthcoming Android 15 update, scheduled for a later reveal. Traditionally, Google introduces its latest Android Beta shortly after the keynote, yet this year, AI integration took precedence. Despite this shift, Android enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the Beta 2 release. The Android 15 journey began with the Developer Preview program in February, followed by the first beta in March. While these previews offered glimpses into the OS's new features, the full extent of Android 15's capabilities will be unveiled with the official launch.
