Killswitch Engage's tour bus collides with elk in Sweden. See what happened
Killswitch Engage's tour bus crashed into an elk while en route to the Dalhalla Brinner festival in Rättvik, Sweden. The incident occurred on Friday, August 25. The band's frontman, Jesse Leach, shared a video on Instagram of the bus's shattered windshield and expressed his thoughts about the accident. Leach began his post by emphasizing the uncertainty of the future and the need to appreciate the present moment. He noted that the crash happened around 6 am and that fortunately, there were no serious injuries among the passengers. However, the driver suffered torn ligaments and was shaken. Unfortunately, the elk did not survive the collision. Leach admitted that while he doesn't carry fear while traveling, seeing the aftermath of the crash did bring about some fear. He expressed concern about the potential loss of loved ones and the possibility of serious injuries. He recounted how he felt as the bus moved away from the scene, and tears came to his eyes as he contemplated what could have happened. The frontman also took a moment to reflect on other touring bands and their crews who endure similar challenges while on the road. He acknowledged the sacrifices they make, being away from their families and sleeping in vehicles on highways worldwide. Leach recognized the contrasting experiences of beauty and triumph alongside suffering and loss.
