The five pillars of the creator economy
Subscribe to enjoy similar stories. There are five pillars of the creator economy. So far in this book, we have been talking from the point of view of the creator, but the remaining four pillars govern how the creator interacts with the other parts of the ecosystem—of how the creator is making money, where the brands are coming in and how the ecosystem functions for the tech that is enabling all of this, with the audience never leaving the centre stage.

The strawberry’s unstoppable rise should worry us
As a child growing up in the 1980s on the outskirts of London, they appeared for a month or so to herald the arrival of the hottest time of the year. Their air of rare luxury during the brief height of the English summer helps explain their indelible association with the Wimbledon tennis tournament, where more than two million are consumed each year. How things have changed. My own children are likely to grow up thinking of them the way I think of apples or bananas — affordable, year-round fruits, barely more exotic than potatoes. This is all due to remarkable innovation in recent decades that has turned a once-rare crop into a harvest on the scale of the global coffee or leather trades. It’s also a sign of how such progress can make efforts to protect the environment harder.

The greatest missed investment in Shark Tank's history: Would you have made the offer?
Shark Tank, where fortunes are made and dreams are crushed in mere minutes, one missed opportunity still haunts the show's history. It was a moment of rejection that later turned into a billion-dollar regret. Back in 2013, a passionate entrepreneur walked into the Shark Tank, seeking funding for his innovative startup. His pitch lasted just nine minutes, and when he walked away empty-handed, it seemed like another routine dismissal. But what the Sharks didn’t realize at that moment was that they had just let go of a company that would soon become a household name—one that Amazon would later acquire for a staggering $1 billion.

DP World, Reliance Industries partner on innovative rail solution
DP World and Reliance Industries have partnered to launch an innovative logistics solution for the petrochemicals industry, shifting product transport from road to rail, significantly cutting carbon emissions. The Dubai-based logistics operator in a statement said the new solution connects Reliance Industries' Jamnagar plant in Gujarat to DP World's inland container depot (ICD) in Ahmedabad and onward to the port of Mundra. Previously, the Mundra-Jamnagar-Mundra round trip involved approximately 700km of road transport for each container, it added. «With the new solution, the Ahmedabad-Jamnagar-Mundra route, also approximately 700km, has been converted to rail,» the statement said, adding that this transition eliminates the environmental and operational challenges associated with long-distance road transport while maintaining the same coverage.
