Honeywell Automation India Q2 Results: Profit falls 5.6% to Rs 115 crore on sluggish demand
Honeywell Automation India reported a 5.6% fall in its second-quarter profit on Tuesday, hurt by slowing demand. The Indian arm of U.S. conglomerate Honeywell International said its profit fell to 1.15 billion rupees ($13.7 million) for the three months ending Sept. 30 from 1.22 billion rupees a year ago. Honeywell Automation India provides building automation solutions to industrial clients and designs emission-curbing and energy transition products. Growth in India's manufacturing industry cooled in August and September, according to a business survey. Analysts have said that Indian exporters are bearing the brunt of increased shipping costs due to the Red Sea crisis.

Despite profit rise, inflation woes linger for Marico
Marico Ltd, which beat estimates in Q2, flagged concerns regarding food price hikes and retail inflation on Tuesday in its Q2 exchange filing. The homegrown FMCG further noted that these concerns will be monitored in the near term. However, the company expects encouraging demand trends owing to above-normal monsoon season, the Centre's budgetary allocations towards boosting the rural economy and upcoming festive season. «Amidst the backdrop of improving macro-indicators, we expect a gradual uptick in the growth of our core categories in the domestic business through the ongoing initiatives to enhance the profitability of our General Trade (GT) channel partners and transformative expansion in our direct reach footprint under Project SETU,» it said in its filing.

Dhanteras gold buying: 31% returns in one year and 57% returns in two years; should you buy gold this year?
It is not only the short-term returns that look impressive, but even the long-term returns from the yellow metal are mostly in the double digits. Such a strong performance will influence many more to invest in the yellow metal around Diwali. Historically, gold has seen multiple price corrections and stagnation for many years. So a good performance in the recent past offers no guarantee of higher returns. If you are planning to invest in gold, you must weigh your options and understand if the prices will continue to rise.

Indian retail space leasing to continue momentum, likely to top 6.5-7 million sq ft in 2024
top seven cities underscoring the sustained appeal of prime locations to retailers led by rising consumption and is expected to continue the momentum until the end of this calendar year. Gross leasing of retail spaces across these cities, including Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, and Hyderabad is projected to exceed 6.5 — 7 million sq ft by the end of 2024 after topping 5.3 million sq ft in the first three quarters ending September, showed a JLL India study. “Despite limited new retail space additions of slightly over 1 million sq. ft, the top seven cities’ robust gross leasing activity indicates retailers' strong appetite for prime retail locations. Fashion and apparel remained the top category with a 37% share, followed by food & beverage and entertainment at 18% and 12% respectively,” said Samantak Das, Chief Economist and Head of Research & REIS, India, JLL.
