Q2 saw normalisation of growth in IndiGo; expect lower double-digit growth in Q3: Pieter Elbers
Pieter Elbers, CEO, IndiGo, says the growth is pretty much what was expected and follows the usual seasonal trends. After the big jump after COVID, things are settling back into a more typical seasonal rhythm, similar to what we experienced in the Indian market before COVID, but with a lot more travelers, which is great for revenue. On the cost side, IndiGo faced a peak in AOGs due to global supply chain problems and some engine issues we've encountered, which has resulted in extra costs. IndiGo has been consistently beating market estimates. But for the quarter gone by, the story seems to be different. There is a drop in margin. This is one of the slowest quarterly growth you have reported in 12 quarters. What has led to this decline? Was it traffic? Was it an issue with aircraft? Could you just share more light on that? Pieter Elbers: Let me take a step back and see how India has basically recovered in terms of traffic post COVID.

Tweak rule to facilitate same-day settlement of FPI trades: Bankers
foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) betting on India, have asked the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to consider a tweak in the rule to facilitate same-day settlement of stock trades, better known as T-plus-zero (or, T+0). They want the banking regulator to enable FPIs to have a mechanism where funds can be organised from banks during the day to buy shares and squared off in evening-an arrangement that would be handy once the shorter settlement cycle of T+0 is extended for institutional trades. In the T+0 cycle, the buyer gets the shares and the seller receives the money on the same day the trade happens. Indications are that the market regulator Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi), wants custodian institutions to be ready for T+0 settlement for FPI and other institutional trades by end December or early January as the Sebi chairperson is believed to be keen on executing this before her term ends in February 2025, two industry persons told ET.

Amit Shah promises change in Bengal, says will end infiltration and corruption by 2026
Amit Shah said on Sunday that infiltration at Indo-Bangladesh border will stop completely if BJP comes to power in the state in 2026. Lashing out at the Trinamool Congress-led government over corruption, Shah said the funds sent by the Modi government are routed to corrupt Trinamool leaders. “Mamata Didi talks about injustice in MGNREGA. You (Mamata) were part of UPA. But now in the NDA regime, Modi, in the last ten years, has sent Rs 56,000crore for NREGA. When Modi sends money, it goes to corrupt TMC leaders. Where does this money go? Did the money go to people or Trinamool Congress.” Shah hit out at INDIA Alliance as well during his speech. He also assured that “Achhe Din” will come to Bengal after counting of 2026 assembly polls is completed and BJP comes to power. “Peace will come once infiltration stops. Partnership with neighbouring countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar in terms of business and cultural aspects will be enhanced. In terms of progress, several initiatives can be possible,” Shah said as he inaugurated the Passenger Terminal Building and Maitri Dwar at Land Port in Bengal's Petrapole today.
