Alliance with BJP after polls depends on how they treat us, like to be Agri Minister: Kumaraswamy
Kumaraswamy has said he is sincerely working for NDA's better prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and the continuation of alliance with BJP, after the parliamentary elections, will depend on how his party and its leaders are treated. The former Chief Minister further said that given an opportunity and if Prime Minister Narendra Modi has confidence in him, he wants to be the agriculture minister, in the event of NDA coming back to power at the Centre. In an exclusive interview to PTI Videos, after filing his nomination from Mandya on Thursday, the state JD(S) President said: «We being part of the NDA depends on how our party leaders are treated in the future. We are sincerely working and we want a long-standing relationship with BJP. But ultimately we will take a decision depending on how we are treated and how much respect we get from the BJP.» JD(S) headed by former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda joined the BJP-led NDA in September last year.

Mrunal Thakur says she has never spent more than Rs 2,000 on clothes, reveals her secret to appear stylish without overspending
Mrunal Thakur! The actress experienced a huge uptick in popularity after she delivered two critical and commercial hits in Tollywood — ‘Sita Ramam’ and ‘Hi Nana’. Despite basking in her newfound stardom, the diva refuses to be extravagant. In an interview with Galatta Plus, the actress said that she finds it pointless to spend a fortune on clothes as most of the time celebs don't repeat dresses. “You are not going to wear them again,” she said. When asked about the clothes she was wearing in the interview, the ‘Lust Stories 2’ actress revealed they had been borrowed. “These are not my clothes, I have just sourced them. The maximum money I have spent on a top is Rs 2000. That also I feel is too much,” she stated. “ Because whatever is expensive, you cannot wear them over and over again. Yes, having a classic statement collection in your wardrobe is good but wearing a brand for the heck of it is a waste of money. I would rather invest that money in food, in some plants, a house, or a land where I can do farming,” she said.

ETMarkets Fund Manager Talk: This fund manager is betting on 3 major themes to play on the India growth story
As domestic growth prospects remain promising, backed by capital investments and policy support, Ambit Asset Management is betting on three major themes to play on India’s story. Mass consumption, manufacturing and industrial, and exports are the three major themes that the asset management firm is bullish on. “We are becoming increasingly positive on the mass consumption theme, driven by the recovery in the Hindi belt, deflation in raw material prices, and large companies taking aggressive price actions,” said Bhargav Buddhadev, fund manager at Ambit Asset Management, in an interview with ETMarkets. Buddhadev holds a positive outlook on the manufacturing and industrial theme, as he anticipates a revival in private capital expenditure. Lastly, he favors the export theme, given the government's implementation of various policy initiatives such as signing FTAs and incentivizing several sectors through PLI schemes. Edited excerpts:

‘Anupamaa’ star Rupali Ganguly says she was ‘looked down upon’ for being a small-screen actress
In a recent interview with CNBC, actress Rupali Ganguly opened up on how, despite having a flourishing career in television, she was looked down upon and not so subtly judged for being a small-screen actress. She also revealed that though the biased attitude stung, she did not have much scope to ponder on it, as she was the sole breadwinner of her family. “Television was again, struggling days. I had to run the home, so whatever work came along, I took it. It was looked down upon, especially in the Bengali community. So, you’re kind of an outcast. People would feel sorry for me because I was doing television, and I didn’t care because, at that time, we needed to run the house” The ‘Anupamaa’ star revealed that she never had any overarching ambition, or any burning desire to be the #1 star. Looking after her sick father and financial stability was her sole priority for a long while. “ I’ve never had ambitions. I’ve never had dreams. My thing was I didn’t want my father to be in a municipal hospital. I wanted him to be in a good hospital like Leelavati. For that, it was imperative that I work. I think, even my brother, there’s so much respect for whatever little we get that we want to make the maximum out of it. I would do anything for my Papa; he is my inspiration, he is my god, and he still is, of course,” she said.
