Enforcement Directorate on Thursday said it raided companies of the Essel Group in Mumbai and recovered «incriminating» documents as part of its ongoing money laundering investigation linked to alleged diversion of funds worth over Rs 2,000 crore from Religare Finvest Limited (RFL). The federal agency said in a statement that three premises linked to Konti Infrapower and Multiventures Pvt Ltd, Edison Infrapower and Multiventures Pvt Ltd, Asian Satellite Broadcast Ltd, Widescreen Holdings Pvt Ltd, Jayneer Capital Pvt Ltd, Spirit Infrapower and Multiventures Pvt Ltd and the residential premises of a former senior official of the Essel Group (who was not named) were raided on Wednesday.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi on Wednesday said that it has started AIIMS-Delhi Smart Card on a pilot basis in some of the departments of the premier health institute and would be operationalised across departments for all sorts of payments by March 31, 2024 “Subsequently, no cash payment shall be accepted at any counters other than at the 'AIIMS Smart Card' top-up counters which shall be operationalised in multiple locations within the OPDs, Hospital and Centres and shall operate on 24/7 basis...", AIIMS Delhi said in a statement. “Other than electronic payments via UPI, debit cards, credit cards, etc, “AIIMS Smart Card" will be the only way to make payments for all investigations and procedures", the statement read.
