Mandaviya inaugurated the second phase of the Annual Nationwide Mass Drug Administration (MDA) initiative here on Thursday. «Through Jan Bhagidaari and Whole of Government and Whole of Society approach, we shall be able to eliminate this disease from the country,» the Union minister said. The second phase of the drive, commencing on August 10, will cover 81 districts in nine endemic states — Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh. Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo and his counterpart in Uttar Pradesh Brijesh Pathak, Odisha Health Minister Niranjan Pujari and his counterparts in Assam Keshab Mahanta and Banna Gupta in Jharkhand joined the inauguration virtually. Addressing the gathering, Mandaviya said, «Efforts must not be limited to taking medicines but also aid in eliminating the spread of diseases via mosquitoes, without which progress to achieve our goal will be significantly restricted».

Pidilite Industries, the adhesives manufacturer, on Thursday reported a strong growth of 31.5% in its net profit for the quarter ended June 2023 at ₹473.7 crore from ₹357.5 crore in the year-ago period. The company’s consolidated revenue in Q1FY24 rose 5.6% to ₹3,275.1 crore from ₹3,101.1 crore, YoY. On a standalone basis, net sales at ₹2,952 crore grew by 6% over the same quarter last year.

Page Industries, which licenses innerwear and loungewear brand Jockey International's products in India, reported a nearly 24% fall in first-quarter profit on Thursday, as softer demand weighed. New Delhi: India's largest airline IndiGo will send 13 engines to US-based engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney for inspection as part of the latest issue regarding material anomalies. Two engines from the operational fleet and 11 engines from the grounded fleet of the airline will be sent to the manufacturer for inspection. "This implies that there would be little or no impact on the capacity of Indian carriers during the ensuing high season," a senior official said.
