Appliance maker Versuni goes full throttle as it sees blockbuster festival season ahead
Philips Domestic Appliances, is planning big for the upcoming festive season in India with both television and digital campaigns even as it bids to make more consumers aware of emerging categories such as air fryers, garment steamers, among others, a top company executive said. Versuni’s chief commercial officer Ozlem Fidanci told ET that the India market has been growing and has been open for new trends culturally, to try new solutions and product lines. “It makes India an attractive opportunity for Versuni and our brands.” The Amsterdam-based company renamed itself in February, after a disentanglement from Royal Philips in September 2021 following a sale to Hillhouse Capital, a global investment firm.

Rural auto demand set for festive revival
rural markets — which had remained weak in the past three years due to the economic impact of the pandemic — are revving up and expected to spur demand for passenger cars, motorcycles and tractors as the country heads into the festive season later this quarter. India resurgence fund in talks to acquire Ind-Swift's API business
India Resurgence Fund (IndiaRF), an India-focused distressed and special situations investment platform sponsored by the Piramal group and Bain Capital Credit, is in talks to acquire the active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) business of the debt ridden Ind-Swift Laboratories (ISLL), said two people aware of the development. The investment size could be in the range of ₹1,000 crore, said sources. The company will use the money to restructure its existing debt.

India, Japan sign MoU on semiconductor development
New Delhi: India and Japan signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on semiconductor development, which will include design, manufacturing, equipment research and talent development. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the agreement as a substantial step to create a resilient complete value chain. "The MoU is on five fronts, viz. semiconductor design, manufacturing, equipment research, talent development, and bringing resilience to the semiconductor supply chain," said Vaishnaw.
