DLF takes 51% stake in Mumbai project for Rs 400 crore
DLF has acquired a controlling 51% stake in a special purpose vehicle (SPV) responsible for a development project spanning around 3.5 million square feet in Mumbai’s Andheri area for approximately Rs 400 crore. “This is part of a bigger slum rehab scheme, where we anticipate that once the entire process is complete, the total saleable area should be in the range of 3 to 3.5 million square feet,” DLF chief executive Ashok Kumar Tyagi said during the real estate developer first quarter earnings call on Monday.

Railways to armour 3000 km of Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Howrah route with Kavach system: Govt
New Delhi: The Railways will armour 3,000 km of its network covering the Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Howrah routes with the protection system Kavach system, the government said on Friday. In a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronic & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw said, “Kavach tenders have been awarded for Delhi – Mumbai & Delhi – Howrah corridors (approximately 3000 Route km) and work is in progress on these routes. Indian Railways is preparing Detailed Project Report (DPR) and detailed estimate for another 6000 RKM." He added that Kavach has so far been deployed on 1465 Route km and 121 locomotives (including Electric Multiple Unit rakes) on South Central Railway.

Mumbai Police has registered an FIR against Italian fashion design brand Valentino, its billionaire founder Valentino Clemente Ludovico Garavani and some officials, based on a complaint filed on behalf of an Indian-American fashion designer, on the directions of a metropolitan magistrate. The magistrate on July 7 directed the police (Matunga police station) to register an FIR, saying a perusal of the complaint and documents annexed by the complainant reveals that «the cognisable offence has been committed by the proposed accused».
