Three-time Oscar nominee actress Piper Laurie passes away at 91
Piper Laurie, the strong-willed, Oscar-nominated actor who performed in acclaimed roles despite at one point abandoning acting altogether in search of a «more meaningful» life, died early Saturday at her home in Los Angeles. She was 91. Laurie died of old age, her manager, Marion Rosenberg, told The Associated Press via email, adding that she was «a superb talent and a wonderful human being.» Laurie arrived in Hollywood in 1949 as Rosetta Jacobs and was quickly given a contract with Universal-International, a new name that she hated and a string of starring roles with Ronald Reagan, Rock Hudson and Tony Curtis, among others. She went on to receive Academy Award nominations for three distinct films: The 1961 poolroom drama 'The Hustler'; the film version of Stephen King's horror classic 'Carrie,' in 1976; and the romantic drama 'Children of a Lesser God,' in 1986.

Marcus Mumford and Carey Mulligan’s Third Child: This is what we know so far
Marcus Mumford and Carey Mulligan, known for their roles in the entertainment industry, have become parents to their third child, as confirmed by Mulligan during a recent interview with Vogue. The actor revealed the news while being interviewed six weeks after giving birth. As she entered a London coffee shop, a noticeable yellow diaper-leak stain was seen on her blouse. In response to the situation, Mulligan casually addressed her baby, stating, «I'm going to change you, and then we're going to find Mum another shirt.» In the interview, there is no mention of the name or gender of the new addition to their family. The couple, who tied the knot in 2012, already has two children. It includes a seven-year-old daughter named Evelyn Grace and a five-year-old son named Wilfred. In a previous Vogue interview from 2015, Mulligan briefly discussed her marriage to Marcus Mumford. She mentioned that, like any couple, they strive to balance their time evenly. She emphasized the importance of keeping some aspects of their life private, saying, «Marcus is the only thing that's mine that I can keep away, so I try to.» In the story, Sienna Miller, who is the couple’s friend, shared, “They both come from very solid families and have a real sense of the life they want to live. Their normalcy. They have chickens and a dog, and roasts and friends, jams by campfires. It’s sort of idyllic. Marcus can headline Glastonbury and Carey can be nominated for however many Oscars, and then they come back to their farm, and they’re in big woolly jumpers and funny hats, raising piglets. It’s an amazing balance they’ve managed to strike.”

Kevin Costner's 'Horizon: An American Saga': All you may want to know
Kevin Costner's Western movie, «Horizon: An American Saga,» is set to hit theaters in 2024. The film will be released in two parts. The «Chapter 1» will be out on June 28, 2024, and «Chapter 2» on August 16, 2024. Warner Bros. and New Line are behind the release of the movie. Kevin Costner planned to make «Horizon» into four separate movies originally, releasing them every three months. The movies were to be interconnected, forming a larger saga of different storylines. However, it's unclear if Costner still looks to follow the four-part plan. Costner takes on many roles in the movie, not just as the director but also as one of the actors. He is joined by Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington and Luke Wilson. The story unfolds over 15 years in the American Western frontier and delves into the lives of settlers and Indigenous groups who inhabited the land. Costner described the film as a portrayal of women trying to survive in a harsh world, often following their men to unsettled and dangerous territories. He emphasized the challenges and vulnerability they faced. Kevin Costner is known for his role in popular series «Yellowstone,» which made him one of the highest-paid actors on TV. But his involvement in the show's future remains uncertain due to conflicts with producers. They claimed Costner's availability had decreased as he focused on «Horizon,» while Costner argued he was adjusting his schedule to accommodate Season 5 of «Yellowstone.» «Horizon: An American Saga» marks Costner's fourth directorial endeavor, following «Open Range» in 2003, «The Postman» in 1997, and the 1990 Oscar best picture-winner, «Dances With Wolves.»
