Somy Ali defends Salman Khan amid Lawrence Bishnoi threats, says he owes no apology
Salman Khan’s former girlfriend Somy Ali has now come out in his support. For the unversed, the ‘Dabangg’ star has been sent several death threats by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Ali, who dated Khan in the ‘90s was recently in the news for extending an open invitation to Bishnoi for a virtual chat on Zoom. For the unversed, Khan had sparked the ire of the Bishnoi community for allegedly killing a Blackbuck in 1998. In an interview with India Today, Ali stated that Khan was not aware of the significance of the animal to the community, so there was no need for him to apologise. “Why should he apologise for something he didn't know about? That's like doing something inadvertently, and unintentionally and being forced to apologise for it. It makes no sense. It's not about ego. People say that he (Salman) is very arrogant and he has a reputation. I have nothing to do with him or his family today. I just don't want anyone murdered, in Bollywood or Hollywood. Violence is never the answer."

Entrepreneur claims he spent 'sleepless nights' to earn in crores at 23, gets schooled
entrepreneur unwittingly became the poster boy for toxic work culture when he openly boasted about how he sacrificed sleep and tranquility to be a top-percentile earner. Taking to X, Kushal Arora, a 23-year-old entrepreneur, claimed that his long work hours, lack of sleep, and missed social gatherings were the sacrifices he made to achieve his goals. According to him, these efforts led to financial success, and he now earns an impressive $500,000 (approximately Rs 4 crore) annually. However, Arora's post on X (formerly Twitter) was met with backlash, as many users criticized his approach to success. Instead of receiving the admiration he may have anticipated, social media users accused him of putting undue pressure on younger generations. The post also sparked a broader discussion about the importance of sleep, maintaining work-life balance, and the possible negative impacts of prioritizing career achievements over personal well-being. In his post, shared on October 16, Arora wrote: «I am 23 years old, earning over $500,000 annually. While others my age were partying and relaxing, I was spending sleepless nights working, skipping social events, facing failures and rejection, and sacrificing work-life balance. But that was my choice. Are you building your dream life?»

No such provision for using bulldozer...: SP Ayodhya MP over UP govt serving demolition notices to accused in Bahraich violence
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's action in response to the violence in Bahraich, which included issuing a demolition notice to the accused, Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad expressed on Sunday that he does not understand why CM Yogi is taking this approach, as there is no provision for the use of bulldozers in the rule of law. Speaking to ANI, Prasad said that the UP Chief Minister appears to want to enforce his own version of law in the state. «As far as the bulldozer is concerned, it is not mentioned anywhere in the law, whether in the IPC, CrPC, or the Evidence Act. No matter how severe the crime, the law allows for provisions such as the death penalty, but there is no provision for using a bulldozer and demolishing property. I don't understand why Yogi Baba is doing this. He seems to have his own system; he wants to implement his own law in Uttar Pradesh. These actions are not in line with the rule of law, they belong to 'jungle law' where lawlessness prevails, and authorities do as they please,» said the Samajwadi Party MP.

Yamuna river froth contains harmful organic matter that releases volatile gases directly into atmosphere, warns expert
Yamuna River, stating that it contains harmful organic matter which releases volatile gases directly into the atmosphere. Speaking to ANI, Professor Sachchida Nand Tripathi, Dean of the Kotak School of Sustainability at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, said, «The effect of froth on the Yamuna River is dangerous. The frequent occurrence of froth is primarily due to the large amounts of surfactants from soap, detergents, and other pollutants in untreated wastewater flowing into the river.» «After the monsoon, the stable atmosphere and rising temperatures create ideal conditions for froth formation. Later, in October, when temperatures drop, it helps stabilise the froth. However, this froth contains harmful organic matter that releases volatile gases directly into the atmosphere. The partitioning of froth also releases volatile organic gases and semi-volatile organic compounds. These organic gases become precursors to secondary organic particulate matter,» he added.

Dollar-starved Maldives notifies new foreign currency rules
Maldives has floated a new foreign currency regulation, limiting types of transactions allowed in foreign currency and imposing mandatory foreign currency exchange controls on tourism establishments and banks. Maldivian economy appears to have taken a hit after calls to Indian tourists to avoid the picturesque island nation as a response to President Mohamed Muizzu's 'India Out' campaign last year. Maldives last month averted a potential default on an Islamic bond payment after India extended a USD 50 million interest-free loan. With its forex reserves not matching its import bill, the island nation's central bank, Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) on October 1 introduced a new regulation, requiring all foreign currency income generated by the tourism industry to be deposited in local banks.
