Piramal Capital and Housing Finance Ltd (PCHFL) has sold an entire standalone office tower Napha Building with eight upper floors and three podiums in Kalina locality of Mumbai’s western suburb Santacruz to Shoquba Realty for Rs 187 crore. The property, originally owned by Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Limited (DHFL), includes a built-up area of 77,079 square feet. The property situated in the commercial hub of South Salsette comprises two basements and a stilt area in addition to three podiums and eight floors. The transaction was finalized on September 27, 2024, through a deed of transfer, showed the documents accessed through real estate data analytics firm Propstack. The buyer has paid stamp duty worth Rs 11.22 crore for the registration of this deal.

These companies are overhauling packaging for a wide array of products spanning impulse items such as cookies and juices, and staples such as rice and edible oil, the executives said. “We are finding that packaging that seeks and draws attention is making a huge difference to quick commerce sales for on-screen browsing by consumers,” said Mayank Shah, vice president of Parle Products, which makes bakery products, biscuits and salty snacks. Parle has introduced ecommerce specific packs for its biscuit brands Milano and Hide & Seek.

Indonesia with their consultations at the World Trade Organization (WTO) remaining inconclusive on Jakarta's proposal to extend safeguard duties on import of ceramic tile products. Indonesia plans to extend the duties by two years till November 2026, a move that may further hurt India's exports of the product to the island nation. The safeguard duties were first imposed in 2018 and India's exports of ceramic products to Indonesia have declined 65% between FY20 and FY24. «The result of the consultations was inconclusive. India reserves its right to request compensation as per the WTO Agreement on Safeguards,» said an official. Safeguard duties are custom tariffs that can be imposed temporarily by a WTO member to protect a specific domestic industry from an increase in imports of any product which is causing or threatening to cause harm to the industry.

Realty developer M3M group has repaid Rs 2,473 crore debt between April 1, 2023 till August 31st, 2024, by repaying to lenders such as Pragati Asia Group (PAG), ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, L&T Finance, Punjab National Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance, STCI Finance, and Kotak Mahindra Bank. M3M group’s outstanding debt has been reduced to Rs 2,026 crore as of March 31st, 2024, marking a significant decrease of Rs 1,700 crore from Rs 3,726 crores in the previous year. As of August 31st, 2024, the group's outstanding debt further decreased to Rs 1,302 crore.

One 97 Communications, the parent company of fintech firm Paytm, has appointed Deependra Singh Rathore as its chief technology officer (CTO) for payments. Rathore, who was with Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) since 2016 was a senior vice president in charge of technology at Paytm. Reserve Bank of India said on Friday group entities of banks shall not be used to circumvent guidelines applicable to the parent for carrying on business activities that are not otherwise permitted. RBI reviewed the current guidelines in public interest, in order to ring-fence the banks' core business from other risk-bearing non-core businesses and to provide level-playing field to all the banks, according to a draft circular. Indian laws permit banks to undertake various forms of businesses, in addition to the core business of banking.
