BWSSB) have taken proactive measures to provide treated water to the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium for the upcoming IPL 2024 cricket matches. The decision comes amidst growing concerns about the impact of the water crisis on the scheduled matches. Officials from the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) convened with Ramprasat Manohar, chairman of the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), to secure an uninterrupted water supply to the stadium during the matches. Approximately 75,000 litres of water per day will be sourced from the Cubbon Park wastewater treatment plant in Sampangi Rama Nagar for this purpose. «We will supply so much water per day for three days through tankers. The tertiary treated water is as good as potable water. By supplying this water we, at the BWSSB, also want to send a message to the society about the need to use and reuse our water. We want to promote the use of treated water for non drinking needs such as use in toilets, gardening, and car-washing,» BWSSB Chairman Ram Prasath Manohar said.
