REITs: JM Financial bullish on Embassy, Mindspace and Brookfield India; sees up to 16% upside – key reasons
Embassy Office Parks REIT: The brokerage is bullish on the stock with a target price of ₹340, indicating an upside of almost 11 percent. The growth drivers for Embassy are an expansion of operational area (6.9msf to be commissioned by FY26E), contractual rent escalations (12-15 percent increases every 3 years), reversion of rentals to market levels (11-29 percent higher), and lease-up of vacant offices, said the brokerage. Embassy Office Parks REIT owns Asia’s largest office portfolio on a leasable area basis, which is currently at 45.0msf (34.3msf operational, development pipeline of 7.9msf & 2.8msf of forthcoming projects).

Don't add into defence, infra; get into these 2 sectors instead: Sunil Subramaniam
Sunil Subramaniam, MD & CEO, Sundaram Mutual, says “the infra play has got a little stretch in valuation. It is time for consumption to pick up. Because so far, whatever consumption has picked up has been premium consumption – be it premium housing, cars with prices over Rs 7 lakh. I think the mass consumption is yet to pick up. Come election year with liquidity floating in the market, this festival season numbers will also come in. It is a delayed festival season with Diwali coming only mid-November.” Where are your investments, apart from Sundaram Mutual Funds? Nothing apart from Sundaram Mutual Funds. Everything is in Sundaram.

Airlines seek govt intervention over Ahmedabad airport plan to hike fees for charter aircraft during World Cup
Ahmedabad airport's proposal to sharply raise user charges for charter flights during the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup. The airport has increased ground handling charges by more than 10 times, sparking a backlash from major airlines, who have now sought government intervention, arguing that such a sudden increase is illegal and will make charter operations unviable. The Airport Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA), which fixes airport tariffs, for a period of five years, issued a notice on Friday evening saying that levying charges and tariffs that have not been approved by the authority is illegal. “A few airport operators are levying charges without taking approval, resorting to unethical practices. All airport operators are directed to refrain from levying charges which have not been approved by the authority,” AERA said in a notice seen by ET. People familiar with the matter said AERA has also summoned the top management of the Ahmedabad airport on According to the tariff list issued by the Ahmedabad airport in September, the airport has levied a minimum of Rs 265,000 as general aviation charges for any charter flight carrying more than 15 passengers.

View: Will RBI squeeze banks with an open market operation?
RBI. Its ripples have not dampened the festive spirit as the world beyond the money market is oblivious to the cryptic war of words. For most, little has changed: the businessman is not charged a higher rate on loans, the homebuyer is paying the same EMI, and stock traders are fine with governor Shaktikanta Das leaving interest rates untouched. However, the rift has left bankers dealing in the more obscure bond market baffled and angry. The dense drama has laid open RBI’s dilemma and the confusion of the bond brigade. The protagonists are an affable governor who wants to tame inflation without hiking interest rates, particularly amid festivities, his articulate, pony-tailed deputy, Michael Patra, who has to justify RBI’s actions, words, and silence, and bankers who lend and borrow to manage liquidity while taking cues from the market, rivals and RBI to price loans and deposits. At the heart of the debate is how banks handle their daily surplus or deficit liquidity vis-à-vis how RBI wants them to do it. While RBI wants banks to manage liquidity without undermining the monetary policy framework, they prefer doing what is convenient. There is no middle ground with bankers arguing that the market has transformed, and RBI must adjust to the new realities. What has changed?

India-Pakistan ICC World Cup: It's raining charters at Ahmedabad airport
private jet flights-four times the usual traffic-will ferry some of India's wealthiest people to and from Ahmedabad, as per data from the city airport. Reason: the much-awaited India-Pakistan match of the ICC World Cup to be held at the Narendra Modi stadium, the world's largest cricket ground, on Saturday. The 48-match tournament runs till November 19. The Ahmedabad airport has run out of parking slots for private jets, said a person in the know. It's giving conditional approval to some of these jets and asking the rest to park at other airports such as Surat and Mumbai. «The last time we saw such massive demand for private jets was during Isha Ambani's wedding,» said Kanika Tekriwal, founder of JetSetGo, a charter operator and aggregator, referring to the opulent wedding of India's richest man Mukesh Ambani's daughter.

Travel boom, festive cheer open jobs in hospitality
tourism and hospitality industry is set to create thousands of jobs in the upcoming months, driven by a spike in leisure travel for the festive season as well as a big increase in business trips. Some 70,000-80,000 jobs (a mix of permanent and temporary roles) are likely to be created as the festive pickup in demand also coincides with the Cricket World Cup, with matches being held in 10 different cities, according to an estimate by staffing company TeamLease. Besides, this is the first post-Covid year when the industry is expected to see hotel occupancy and footfalls exceeding pre-pandemic levels, and a barrage of expansions by leading hotel chains. ITC-backed Fortune Hotels, Lemon Tree Hotels and Royal Orchid Hotels, among a host of other large and mid-sized hotels which are opening new properties or acquiring smaller/unbranded hotels to meet the spike in demand, are all aggressively increasing manpower and will hire between 1,500 and 3,000 people each in 6-12 months, said top company executives. Fortune Hotels plans to increase hiring across the chain by 8-10% compared with last year when it hired about 2,500 employees across the chain.

The morgue at Gaza's biggest hospital is overflowing as Israeli attacks intensify
Gaza's biggest hospital overflowed Thursday as bodies came in faster than relatives could claim them on the sixth day of Israel's heavy aerial bombardment on the territory of 2.3 million people. With scores of Palestinians killed each day in the Israeli onslaught after an unprecedented Hamas attack, medics in the besieged enclave said they have run out of places to put remains pulled from the latest strikes or recovered from the ruins of demolished buildings. The morgue at Gaza City's Shifa hospital can only handle some 30 bodies at a time, and workers had to stack corpses three high outside the walk-in cooler and put dozens more, side by side, in the parking lot.

Please Don't Destroy, have released the first trailer for their debut film, «Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain.» The movie is set to launch on November 17 via Peacock. The movie has been produced by Judd Apatow. In the film, Ben, Martin, and John, childhood pals turned underachieving colleagues, tackle hairless bears, desperate park rangers (played by Meg Stalter and X Mayo), and a hypocritical cult leader (Bowen Yang) in their quest to uncover a priceless treasure. It's narrated by John Goodman, with a cameo by Conan O'Brien as Ben's father. The trio wrote the script for the movie and it's directed by «SNL» alum Paul Briganti. These comedians made their name through absurd digital shorts, much like The Lonely Island. Their skits frequently feature «SNL» hosts and special guests, like Taylor Swift and Pete Davidson in «Three Sad Virgins,» Rami Malek in «Rami Wants a Treat,» and Paul Rudd, John Mulaney, and Al Roker in «Good Variant.» Originally slated for an August 18 theatrical premiere, NBCUniversal later decided to debut the movie exclusively on Peacock on November 17. Besides their on-screen roles, Marshall, Higgins, and Herlihy are also executive producers, joined by Josh Church, M. Riley, Sam Hansen, and Michael Sledd.
