Elderly woman in upscale Noida society dies after being run over by SUV

SUV while walking on a road within her Sector 78 society. The driver of the vehicle was allegedly talking on the phone at the time of the accident. Krishna Narang sustained severe head injuries and later passed away at a hospital.

She resided in the upscale Mahagun Moderne with her husband. According to the police, her family chose not to proceed with an autopsy or file a complaint.

DCP Harsh Chander stated that the SUV driver promptly took Krishna to the hospital after the accident. He mentioned, «She was walking on the road inside the society when the car knocked her down while taking a turn.

She succumbed to her injuries in the hospital. We are awaiting a formal complaint to be registered.» CCTV footage from the society revealed Krishna, dressed in a green salwar-suit, walking in the middle of the road when the car hit her while making a right turn. Witnesses rushed towards the vehicle and demanded the driver to come out by banging on the bonnet.

Neighbors described Krishna as a devout lady who would visit the temple daily.

A resident expressed their shock, stating, «Aunty was an extremely sweet person and lived with her husband in Venezia tower. Like every other day, she was on her way to the temple when the car coming out of the parking ramp collided with her. It's alarming that such an accident could occur within the society premises.»

The couple's children reside elsewhere in the city and visit them on weekends.

The president of the Moderne's Apartment Owners Association (AOA), Parul, told TOI, «The person driving the car is a resident of the society.
