The Watchers: When and where to watch Shyamalan’s film on streaming
Shyamalan in 2024, has now made its way to streaming platforms, following a mixed reception in theaters. Produced by her father, the renowned filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan, The Watchers marks Ishana's directorial debut. The film, based on A.M. Shine's novel, stars Dakota Fanning as Mina, a 28-year-old artist who is trapped in a forest in Ireland alongside three strangers and faces mysterious nocturnal creatures. Premiering in theaters on June 7, The Watchers garnered $33 million against its $30 million budget, a modest figure that reflects the film's lukewarm reception, as mentioned in a report by Screenrant. Unlike M. Night Shyamalan's other 2024 release, Trap, which performed more robustly at the box office, The Watchers did not capture a broad audience, leading to its quick transition to streaming. As the film begins to find a new audience online, its impact on Ishana Night Shyamalan's budding career remains to be seen.

‘Mirzapur 3’ bonus episode: Munna Bhaiyya set to return. Release date, plot, cast
Munna Bhaiyya was one of the highlights of ‘Mirzapur’. Divyendu Sharma’s electrifying performance made the character an audience favourite. However, did you know that Sharma almost didn’t land this role? Initially, Amit Sial was considered for the role of Munna Tripathi in the web series Mirzapur, but he ultimately landed the part of Inspector Ram Sharan Maurya. The actor revealed this detail during an interview. He said, “Munna’s character in Mirzapur was offered to me, but obviously, I wouldn’t have been convincing as Pankaj Tripathi’s son. But I am very happy with the role I played. I think that’s a classic character.” But that’s not it. He expressed how Divyenndu Sharma left him in awe. He added that the actor is a very sweet friend and portrayed the character “exceptionally well”.

What's driving the rally in IT stocks? Abhishek Kumar answers
«The demand commentary that we hear from most of the companies is that things are stabilising. There are green shoots, especially in banking and BFSI generally is a lead indicator for the broad-based recovery in the sector,» says Abhishek Kumar, JM Financial Institutional Securities. Could you just give us a gist of what has actually been driving this kind of a rally that we are seeing in the IT Index because the EPS upgrades are not that much to support this kind of rally? Abhishek Kumar: You are right, earning upgrades have not come through yet but if we look at the last few quarters, there were earning downgrades consistently and that seems to have stopped, so that is kind of a first milestone in inflection. So, the worst seems to be behind the sector.

Taxpayers expect taxes to work for them, Siddaramaiah tells finance commission; CM cautions against skewed weightage to equity
Siddaramaiah on Thursday urged the 16th Finance Commission to cap cess and surcharge at 5% of gross tax revenue and move collections above that into the divisible pool for sharing with the states. Cess and surcharge are not part of the divisible pool. Over the years the union government has increased its reliance on cess and surcharge. This has caused substantial loss to all the states. The loss to Karnataka on account of the non-sharing of cess and surcharge was Rs. 53,359 crore during the five-year period from 2017, the CM said, addressing Chairman Arvind Panagariya and other visiting members of the Commission. The CM pressed for vertical devolution to states to be at least half of the divisible pool. All non-tax revenues of the Centre too should be included in the divisible pool. “Economically advanced states are committed to supporting poorer states, but this should not come at the expense of their own residents or economic efficiency. A larger proportion of resources generated by the states should be shared with them.”
