Last year was a lot like a Sunday evening — pleasant and satisfying, but with the clear and gathering notion of hard work ahead. Losses in the financial markets and continued inflation created the expectation over the year that dire times may be on the horizon. As a result, we saw a year of profitability, but also one of cautious spending and hiring.  

₹68,937 crore in Q2FY24, a growth of 19.5% over Q2FY23 revenue of ₹57,694 crore. During the quarter, the company achieved an EBITDA of ₹5,820 crore, marking a 32.2% improvement over the previous year's EBITDA of ₹4,404 crore and a 13.25% surge compared to the Q1 FY24 figure of ₹5,139 crore. The EBITDA margin also expanded to 8.4%, showing an 80-basis point increase from the EBITDA margin of 7.6% in Q2 FY23.

Revenue from operations grew 19.5% from ₹57,694 crore to ₹68,937 crore, with growth momentum across consumption baskets led by food and grocery, which grew by 33%, the company said. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) from operations rose 30.8% to ₹5,607 crore from ₹4,286 crore in the September 2022 quarter.

Reliance Industries have approved appointment of Chairman Mukesh Ambani's son Anant Ambani, along with his elder siblings Akash and Isha, as non-executive directors on the company board. At 28 years of age, Anant, three years younger than his two siblings, was seen as too young for the role. Institutional Shareholder Services Inc., an international proxy advisory firm, and Mumbai-based Institutional Investor Advisory Services had recommended that shareholders vote against the proposal of Anant Ambani's appointment on the board. Reliance had told the proxy companies that Anant has “the relevant experience and maturity to add value to the board deliberations” given his participation in the conglomerate’s businesses and the grooming he has received from senior leadership over the years.

Again, it will vary from one company to another company. M&M has a completely different mix of products. M&M, of course, has a very large tractor portfolio and farm equipment portfolio, so that has a meaningful impact on revenues.
