As domestic growth prospects remain promising, backed by capital investments and policy support, Ambit Asset Management is betting on three major themes to play on India’s story. Mass consumption, manufacturing and industrial, and exports are the three major themes that the asset management firm is bullish on. “We are becoming increasingly positive on the mass consumption theme, driven by the recovery in the Hindi belt, deflation in raw material prices, and large companies taking aggressive price actions,” said Bhargav Buddhadev, fund manager at Ambit Asset Management, in an interview with ETMarkets. Buddhadev holds a positive outlook on the manufacturing and industrial theme, as he anticipates a revival in private capital expenditure. Kalpen Parekh, MD & CEO, DSP Mutual Fund, says “we felt that prices are maybe a year ahead of what they should be and part correction has happened, let us say, in the last two-three weeks, but we do feel that even today when we look at our portfolios, we would be happy with some more consolidation either in terms of time or if there is some more price fall, our conviction to buy the same set of good companies with the next five-year horizon would go up significantly. But we would still say it is time to be cautious, time to be more diversified and time to be more asset allocated rather than chasing only one bucket.” You and your team are putting out some great data. In fact, it is just not garnering assets but also educating the ecosystem and learning which I really appreciate about your house. You called out on the froth in small and midcaps very early on. In fact, the buzz may have gotten louder in the last two weeks, but the melting of the indices started in the first or second week of February. Do you think the adjustment is done or not entirely?

Das also pointed out that IREDA is actively involved in new and emerging areas such as rooftop solar, excluding residential projects, along with exploring opportunities in alternative sources like CBG and ethanol. Considering India's agricultural economy, there is a promising scope for growth in these sectors. Looking ahead, IREDA is set to delve into areas like pump storage, green hydrogen, offshore wind, aiming to expand its portfolio in sustainable energy solutions. Every time I look at IREDA stock and everyone is like, oh my God, is it real? It went public at less than Rs 40 and then it went to as high as 170, actually Rs 200. So, are you pinching yourself? Pradip Kumar Das: First of all, we are a responsible Government of India organisation which is spearheading the renewable energy development in the country through financing which is the most crucial aspect, not only renewable, new and emerging sector.

India can play a key role in building a resilient global electronics supply chain, said Cristiano Amon, chief executive of US chip giant Qualcomm Inc. What's Qualcomm's investment plan for India? India is our largest R&D site outside San Diego. We have a presence in a number of sites — from Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Noida. The majority of our chips are designed in India, both hardware and software. With the world looking for alternatives to make the overall electronic supply chain more resilient, we see that India has an important role to play, an opportunity to create over time, very large Indian companies serving not only the Indian market, but also global, whether it's smartphone industrial modules, whether it's semiconductor packaging, and eventually semiconductor manufacturing.
