Sebi introduces flexibility in pro-rata rights for AIF investors
markets regulator Sebi on Friday introduced exemptions to the requirement of maintaining pro-rata rights in investments and distribution of proceeds under the alternative investment funds (AIF) rules. Under this, pro-rata rights will not apply to cases where investors are excused or excluded from specific investments; fail to meet their contribution obligations, or share profits (such as carried interest) with fund managers or sponsors, Sebi said in a circular. Furthermore, specific entities, including government-backed organisations and development financial institutions, may opt for junior or subordinate units, accepting lower returns or higher risks compared to other investors.

Sensex up 4,487 points since November lows. What should mutual fund investors do?
Sensex surging by 4,487 points from its November lows and reaching at the level of 81,289, the mutual fund expert believes that investors should adopt a diversified allocation strategy and should allocate 10% towards gold and 5-7% towards silver. Experts suggest that after the above allocation, investors should allocate 20-30% in duration focused debt instruments and the remaining should be invested in equities through a staggered approach to mitigate risks associated with market volatility. “Given the near-term weakness and macroeconomic moderation, investors should adopt a diversified allocation strategy. A prudent approach would be to allocate 10% towards gold as a hedge against inflation and market uncertainty, and 5-7% towards silver to diversify within commodities and benefit from industrial demand trends. Additionally, 20-30% should be allocated to duration-focused debt instruments, which can provide stability during volatility and benefit from potential future rate cuts. The remaining portion should be invested in equities through a staggered approach or systematic investment plans (SIPs) to mitigate risks associated with market volatility,” said Sagar Shinde, VP Research, Fisdom.

Vinod Kambli acknowledges Tendulkar's financial help, clarifies on his infamous remark against Sachin
Vinod Kambli has been grabbing the headlines for his deteriorating health conditions. Now, he has recently opened up about his health struggles and financial challenges, revealing the vital role played by his childhood friend Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar provided financial assistance to Kambli during two critical surgeries following a heart attack in 2013. Kambli underwent the procedures at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai and expressed deep gratitude for Tendulkar’s unwavering support during that difficult period. Reflecting on his recent health issues, Kambli opened up about it in an interview with Vickey Lalwani. He shared that he faced a medical emergency about a month ago, requiring hospitalization at three different facilities. He described the incident as a sudden collapse at home, where his son and daughter had to assist him. His wife, Andrea, took him to the hospital multiple times, ensuring he received the necessary care. He credited her for her dedication and encouragement. Kambli emphasized that he is now doing better and continues to focus on his health. Addressing past speculation about health problems linked to alcohol addiction, Kambli clarified that he had quit drinking and smoking months before his collapse. He recounted an incident where he suddenly fainted while driving, leading to an emergency trip to the hospital. He also noted that surviving two heart attacks has reinforced his determination to prioritize his health, with his wife standing by him through these challenges.
