Tendulkar provided financial assistance to Kambli during two critical surgeries following a heart attack in 2013. Kambli underwent the procedures at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai and expressed deep gratitude for Tendulkar’s unwavering support during that difficult period.
Reflecting on his recent health issues, Kambli opened up about it in an interview with Vickey Lalwani. He shared that he faced a medical emergency about a month ago, requiring hospitalization at three different facilities. He described the incident as a sudden collapse at home, where his son and daughter had to assist him. His wife, Andrea, took him to the hospital multiple times, ensuring he received the necessary care. He credited her for her dedication and encouragement. Kambli emphasized that he is now doing better and continues to focus on his health.
Addressing past speculation about health problems linked to alcohol addiction, Kambli clarified that he had quit drinking and smoking months before his collapse. He recounted an incident where he suddenly fainted while driving, leading to an emergency trip to the hospital. He also noted that surviving two heart attacks has reinforced his determination to prioritize his health, with his wife standing by him through these challenges.
