US Treasury sets out crypto tax reporting proposal
The rules are designed to address the tax evasion risks posed by digital assets and could raise nearly $28 billion in ten years, says the Joint Committee on Taxation.Under the proposal, crypto brokers - centralised and decentralised exchanges, payment processors and some hosted wallets - would have to provide a new tax reporting form, called a Form 1099-DA, to help taxpayers determine if they owe taxes. The rules would cover crypto such as Bitcoin and Ether, as well as NFTs.The form, covering information such as customers’ capital gains and losses, would be sent to both customers and the IRS.

Netflix’s ‘Black Summer’: Will it be renewed for season 3 or canceled?
Black Summer Season 3 remains uncertain as the passage of time and lack of updates cast doubt on its continuation. Following a two-year wait for Season 2 after the first installment, it has now been over two years again with no indications of a third season. Given the prolonged silence, coupled with modest viewership numbers, speculations arise that Black Summer might have silently met its end. Black Summer, a Netflix Original horror series co-created by Karl Schaefer and John Hyams, serves as a prelude to the eccentric zombie show Z-Nation. The second season of Black Summer marked a notable improvement over its predecessor. The show's ability to create tension during zombie encounters and survivor confrontations remains its strong point. Regarding the possibility of Black Summer's return for Season 3, Netflix's official stance remains «Pending» as of June 17, 2021. Season 2 premiered on the streaming platform in June 2021, and despite the passage of two years, there has been no word about its future. Jamie King, a lead actor in the series, expressed optimism about Season 3's potential in an interview with Express. However, her remarks also implied that a third season might conclude the series. Neither Netflix nor The Asylum, the production company, provided comments regarding the show's future. The absence of a Season 3 renewal might stem from the show's limited global viewership and relative lack of popularity, especially in English-speaking regions like the US and UK. Despite briefly entering the US TV top ten from June 17 to July 2, 2021, Black Summer was later displaced by other shows. A global top-ten placement was not achieved, and the show's performance fell short of rival series like Lucifer.

G20's mandate can't advance if Global South concerns not met: S Jaishankar
G20 is to promote economic growth and development, and that cannot advance if the crucial concerns of the Global South are not addressed, external affairs minister S Jaishankar said on Sunday. «For a variety of reasons that range from scale, subsidy, technology, human resources & strategic choices, the Global South was reduced to being a consumer rather than a producer,» Jaishankar said in his address at the B20 Summit organised by CII ahead of the September 9-10 G20 Summit. «It is, however, an undeniable reality that the international system remains dominated by the Global North. This is naturally reflected in the composition of G20 as well.
