Fitch’s recent downgrade of the U.S. debt rating alarmed investors as the deficit and debt steadily increased. The downgrade sent 10-year Treasury bond yields above 4%, causing concern about America’s deteriorating financial condition. The problem is that if radical steps aren’t taken to curb spending, such will cause interest rates to rise. To wit:

IDFC FIRST Bank has bagged the title rights for home international series of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), announced the Indian cricket board on 25 August, adding the private lender would pay a sum of ₹4.2 crore per international game. He noted that the company is already the largest electric bus maker in the country with a manufacturing capacity of 20,000 electric buses per annum. «Having over 30 per cent market share and an order book of more than 5,000 electric buses we're delivering buses across India,» Arya said.

Australian government has swiftly moved to close a visa loophole that allowed international students to enroll in less expensive vocational courses upon their arrival in the country. Effective immediately, this loophole will be sealed. International students often took advantage of a provision known as the «concurrent study» rule, which permitted them to pursue additional courses alongside their primary studies, with the aim of enhancing their job prospects through short-term programs. However, recent investigations have brought to light a significant number of students misusing this rule, choosing to abandon their university studies in favor of more affordable courses. According to data, there has been a notable surge in concurrent study enrollments during the first half of 2023, totaling 17,000, compared to a combined total of 10,500 for the same period in both 2019 and 2022.Education Minister Jason Clare stated, «This change will work to stop predatory 'second' providers from enrolling students before they have studied for the required six months at their first provider.»

He added that cyber attacks by nation states have also increased with almost 40% of the attacks targeted towards critical infrastructure.

DGCA) has found lapses in internal safety audits of Air India and the regulator is probing the matter, according to officials. When contacted, an Air India spokesperson said that all airlines are subject to regular safety audits by regulators and other bodies. «Air India actively engages in such audits to continually assess and strengthen our processes,» the spokesperson said in a statement and added that the airline directly addresses any matters raised with the authority concerned. According to the inspection report submitted to the DGCA, the airline was supposed to carry out regular safety spot checks in various areas of operations such as cabin surveillance, cargo, ramp and load but during a random inspection of 13 safety points, the team found that the airline prepared false reports in all 13 cases. «Moreover, when cross-verified with CCTV, recordings, auditee statements, shift register documents, GD (General Declaration) list, passenger manifest etc, it is understood that all the aforesaid 13 spot checks shown to be carried out in stations Mumbai, Goa and Delhi were verified and were established to have not been actually performed,» the two-member team said in the 'Deficiency Reporting Form' (DRF).
