US presidential elections: Indian-Americans throwing weight behind Kamala Harris
US presidential election heads for a photo finish, Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, the daughter of Indian and Jamaican immigrants, has been counting on groundswell of support from the Indian-American community in most of the pivotal battleground states. For a sizable number of Indian Americans, Vice President Harris's race to the White House is a momentous occasion as it is propelling the community into a notable force in the American political discourse. «It is a matter of pride that a leader of Indian-descent is fighting the US presidential election,» said Dr Vasudev Patel, general secretary of the Federation of Indian-American Association of Georgia. Georgia is one of the seven key battleground states and Patel says the Indian-American community could play a significant role in swinging the election in Harris's favour.

US election 2024: Will voters in Alaska villages be able to cast votes this time?
The result? Hundreds of people can be disenfranchised. That would shock politicians, voters and activists in any swing state, but it's garnered relatively little attention outside the 49th state.

US election 2024: Donald Trump's daughter is missing at campaign trail. Where is Ivanka Trump?
Ivanka Trump has been surfing. She's posed in front of the Eiffel Tower, and attended a Formula One party in Miami in a race-car red dress. She's hung out with her children in a hot tub, with Kim Kardashian in Malibu, and with her husband, Jared Kushner, at the Acropolis, according to a report on NYT News Service. The one place Trump hasn't been, however, is the campaign trail. And though she has been upfront about her absence, politically speaking, it remains somewhat mysterious. During former President Donald Trump's last two bids for office, Ivanka Trump appeared at rallies, in television ads and on national convention stages, often with the implicit role of appealing to female voters, as per a report on NYT News Service. U.S elections: Weather could play spoilsport in these three swing states on voting day; here are the states that may be affected
AccuWeather meteorologist Paul Pastelok highlighted that snow in northern Arizona could deter voters from polling sites, while northern Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula may also experience snowfall. He noted that the weather could affect older voters who might be less inclined to brave the elements. Pastelok mentioned that a low-pressure system might deliver rain and snow early in the day, complicating voting plans. Also Read: Another subprime crisis in the making? Donald Trump is the perfect tribal chief for ‘palaeoliths’ in MAGA tees’n’baseball caps
Donald Trump. Yet, there's an even chance that he'd emerge victorious from the Nov 5 US presidential election. How do Trump and his team manage to distort reality so well? A big part of the problem is what sociobiologist Edward O Wilson identified: humans have palaeolithic emotions, mediaeval institutions and godlike technology. Trump is tall, walks taller, talks loud, is rich, and projects power. That is enough to make him leader for 21st-century cavemen in MAGA tees and baseball caps. He feeds fear of the outsider, with his charge that illegal immigrants are rapists, killers and drug peddlers, and promises to undertake the largest deportation of aliens the world has seen. The tribe, forever wary of strangers, rallies around this protector.

US Presidential election race enters last leg; Donald Trump, Kamala Harris trade bitter attacks
Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump traded bitter attacks while racing to woo the voters in key battleground states that could decide the outcome of the razor-tight contest. On Monday, Trump, the Republican nominee, addressed a rally at the McCamish Pavilion on the campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta where he rejected attempts by Democrats to compare him with the Nazis. «The newest line from Kamala and her campaign is that anyone who isn't voting for her is a Nazi,» he said at the capital city of Georgia. Georgia is one of the seven key battleground states that could decisively swing the November 5 election in favour of either candidate.

Bezos says Washington Post ended US presidential endorsements on 'principle'
Bezos, the billionaire owner of the Washington Post, said on Monday that his choice for the US newspaper not to endorse a candidate in the presidential election was «a principled decision» and denied it was linked to personal interests. In an op-ed posted to the newspaper's website, Bezos argued that with trust in news media falling, steps needed to be taken to address accusations of partisanship. «What presidential endorsements actually do is create a perception of bias. A perception of non-independence. Ending them is a principled decision,» he wrote.

Donald Trump fires back at critics amid Hitler remark backlash, says ‘I’m not a Nazi’
Donald Trump told supporters Monday he is «not a Nazi,» using a rally in the final week of a bitter White House race to push back on accusations of authoritarianism, including from a former chief of staff who branded him a fascist. As he and rival Kamala Harris entered the final stretch of one of the closest US presidential elections in modern times, each candidate and their teams have ramped up the political rhetoric, bringing an already simmering campaign to a boil. Democrat Harris, who has accused Trump of stoking divisions, was crisscrossing Michigan on Monday while Republican Trump headed to Georgia, another of the decisive swing states, where he said critics are accusing him of being a modern-day «Hitler.»

US election: Should Michelle Obama make her own presidential run? Some people want that to happen
Kamala Harris, it has been a very mixed election campaign run, as she was a hotshot favorite when she began in the US election 2024 race, but slowly began faltering in the last couple of weeks against her very formidable opponent Donald Trump of the Republicans. She, however, was offered a lot of help from other Democratic Party leaders including the likes of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama as well as Michelle Obama. In a latest speech on Saturday, Michelle appealed to male voters in a rather moving speech, which even made some of her followers call for her own Presidential run. Over time, Michelle has made herself very popular among the Democrat bracket, and not only as a former First Lady, but also as a visionary. In her latest speech, Michelle tried to drive male voters towards Harris, in the last leg of the election campaign run, with the polls set to begin in the first week of November. US election 2024 witnessed a crucial twist when President Joe Biden's revealed that he was going to drop out of the 2024 White House race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee triggered one of the most remarkable transformations in American politics, as per a report on AFP. Harris was previously saddled with record low approval ratings for a 'veep'. Within a few short weeks she created an election campaign out of nothing. She held rapturous rallies, raised more than $1 billion in funds and brought what she called a burst of joy to a party that had given up hope.

The speech not only rallied his supporters but also coincided with shifts in the presidential betting odds, reflecting changing perceptions among voters. «She's actually imploding, if you take a look. US election results: Is Donald Trump fearing defeat against Kamala Harris?
The Republican ex-president, who is in a dead heat with Democrat Kamala Harris in the race for the White House, has never acknowledged the legitimacy of his election defeats — from the 2016 Iowa primary to his presidential contest in 2020. His denialism deeply polarized the country last time around, and his continued attempts to sow distrust in US democracy have sparked fears of a repeat of the violence seen during the 2021 storming of the US Capitol.
