Indian IT company asks for 'personal life should be sorted' in job advertisement
job posting is going viral due to one unusual requirement that has sparked discussions on social media. The company, based in Navi Mumbai, is looking for a Talent Acquisition Executive in its BPO division. While most of the listed qualifications appear standard for the industry, one particular line has caught the internet’s attention: «Personal life should be sorted with no baggage.» This last requirement, shared on Naukri.com, quickly made its way to a popular Reddit forum, where it was met with a wave of backlash and criticism. Many users found the implication of needing a «sorted» personal life invasive and reflective of the growing culture of work dominating personal time.

26-year-old techie’s dilemma: Canadian citizenship or Rs 41 LPA hybrid job in India?
The software engineer currently earns 85,000 Canadian dollars (around Rs 52.5 lakh annually, including bonuses). However, the high cost of living in Halifax, where he lives, along with Canada’s strained healthcare system, is making life challenging. “Rent’s crazy, paying 2,300 Canadian dollars (Rs 1.42 lakh) for rent and utilities,” he noted, adding that long waiting times for non-urgent healthcare have been another significant issue. His company has offered him a managerial position in Bengaluru with a salary of Rs 36 lakh per annum, plus a Rs 5 lakh bonus. While the offer seems promising, the engineer is concerned about adjusting to the work culture in India, particularly with an Indian manager. “I’ve never worked in India, and I’ve heard horror stories about the demands of Indian bosses,” he mentioned in his post. He’s also unsure about the working environment, which he fears might change if his current managers leave.

Looking for someone who doesn’t mind my 12 cats and can tolerate my collection of toenail clippings. I don’t believe in deodorant, and I think showering is overrated. My ideal date is watching conspiracy theory videos on YouTube while eating expired canned food. No, I won’t stop talking about my ex, and yes, I live with my mom. Swipe left if you can’t handle the real me!» This bio was posted on Reddit, where it amassed over 27,000 upvotes and ignited a flurry of reactions.

Reddit CEO Steve Huffman ends free data scraping, demands payment from Microsoft and other tech giants: Report
Huffman highlighted the importance of these deals for maintaining control over Reddit’s data and ensuring its responsible use. Without such agreements, Reddit cannot oversee how its data is presented or utilized, risking potential misuse."Without these agreements, we don’t have any say or knowledge of how our data is displayed and what it’s used for, which has put us in a position now of blocking folks who haven’t been willing to come to terms with how we’d like our data to be used or not used," Huffman said in an interview with The Verge.According to the publication, Microsoft, Anthropic, and Perplexity are among the companies that have resisted negotiating, leading to what Huffman describes as "a real pain" in blocking their access.
