Citing reports, Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) leader Dallewal rejected the Centre's plan to undertake guaranteed procurement of pulses (tur, urad and masoor), maize and cotton at a Minimum Support Price (MSP). Speaking to reporters, Dallewal asserted that farmers must be given MSP on all crops for their survival under the «C2 plus 50 per cent» formula recommended by the Swaminathan Commission.

Average hourly earnings m-o-m came in at 0.10% versus the forecast of 0.20%, while y-o-y earnings at 4.30% met the forecast though it was lower than the prior data of 4.40%. Labour force participation at 62.50% was lower than the estimate of 62.60%.

The guarantees include: An assurance on recruitment to eliminate the unemployment problem in the country by filling up nearly 30 lakh vacancies in the Central government, Right to Apprenticeship Law for the benefit of diploma holders and graduates, a new legislation to stop question paper leak for government jobs, social security for «Gig economy» workers involved in informal jobs, and capital support for the youth to start ventures on their own.

The chief minister told them that the police investigation was going on and all the accused had already been arrested through a flawless and fair probe, the statement said. However, as the victim's mother has also submitted a petition seeking a CBI probe, Vijayan informed the family that he has decided to leave the investigation of the case to the CBI, respecting their sentiments, it said.
