Health insurance premiums have soared, causing some policyholders to reduce coverage or cancel their policies entirely. One in ten policyholders skipped renewals this financial year, ToI reported. Around 10% of policyholders experienced premium increases of 30% or more, with only half of those affected paying the full increased amount. Insurers attribute the rising premiums to a worsening claims ratio – the percentage of claims compared to total premiums collected. Health insurance premiums don't increase steadily. Instead, they jump periodically, typically every three years, to reflect rising medical treatment costs (medical inflation). Premiums also increase with age, rising more sharply in later years due to higher claims in older age groups. Data from the last decade shows that over half (52%) of policyholders saw premiums grow at a rate of 5-10% annually. This means a Rs 100 premium a decade ago would now be between Rs 162 and Rs 259. Another 38% experienced annual premium increases of 10-15%, resulting in a Rs 100 premium rising to between Rs 259 and Rs 404. A smaller percentage (3%) saw premiums increase by 15-30% annually.

U.S. nuclear deterrence is crucial to the country's security and that its participation would send the «wrong message.» Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi said Japan's national security is the primary reason it will not participate as an observer at the conference, which starts Monday in New York. «Under the severe security environment, nuclear deterrence is indispensable to defend the people's lives and assets, as well as Japan's sovereignty and peace,» Hayashi told reporters. Japan's participation as an observer at the conference would «send a wrong message about the Japanese policy (supporting) nuclear deterrence and interfere with our effort in security, peace and safety.»

IndiGo continued to dominate the market, expanding its share to approximately 65%, according to a report by domestic brokerage firm Motilal Oswal. Motilal Oswal highlights that IndiGo's domestic PAX stood at 9.5 million, reflecting a 20% YoY surge. Its domestic market share rose to 65.2%, gaining 490 bps YoY, highlighting its ability to capture demand effectively. Rekha Gupta on Monday said the Delhi government will present the 'Viksit Delhi' budget for 2025-26 in the assembly between March 24 and 26. Additionally, we will hold discussions with stakeholders from the education sector and traders on March 6,» the chief minister said. Also, India’s low spending on childcare products and services, high birth rate compared to China and the United States, increasing maternity age, increased focus on preventive healthcare, and expansion of medical tourism are some of the tailwinds. Maharashtra's Jalgaon district, following which one person was arrested. The FIR was registered on the complaint of Khadse at Muktainagar police station in connection with an incident that occurred at Sant Muktai Yatra in Kothali village on Friday night. Seven persons have been named in the FIR, of which one, identified as Soham Mali, has been arrested, a Muktainagar police station official said in the evening. He added that teams have been formed the nab the other accused. The seven have been charged with stalking and other offences under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, while Information Technology Act provisions have been invoked since they tried to take pictures and videos of the girls without permission, the official informed. The bodyguards accompanying the girls named the seven persons, the police official added.
