Panel recommends health supplements claiming to cure, mitigate disease be classified as drugs
If accepted, these products would come under the oversight of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) instead of the current regulator, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). According to the TOI report, the committee, led by former health secretary Apurva Chandra, argued that supplements making health claims should undergo stricter scrutiny before licensing. This would also mean harsher penalties for companies making false claims about disease prevention or mitigation.

India least exposed to Trump's trade policies, CLSA raises India's overweight to 20 pc over China
India is emerging as one of the least affected markets in the region when it comes to former U.S. President Donald Trump's trade policies, highlighted a report by global brokerage firm CLSA. The report stated that this resilience is attributed to India's relatively low trade exposure to the U.S., manageable corporate leverage, and declining levels of foreign equity ownership. While other markets might face greater vulnerabilities, India remains better positioned to weather such challenges. «India appears as among the least exposed of regional markets to Trump's adverse trade policy. Moreover, so long as energy prices remain stable, India may offer a relative oasis of FX stability in an era of a strengthening US dollar» it said.

How did Disha Patani’s father lose Rs 25 lakh to fraudsters?
Disha Patani’s father, Jagdish Singh Patani, has incurred a major financial loss. The former deputy SP has reportedly been defrauded of Rs 25 lakh by a group of five individuals who promised him a prestigious position in a government commission. According to police reports on Friday, the Patanis filed an FIR at Bareilly Kotwali police station that same evening. In his complaint, Patani alleged that he handed over Rs 5 lakh in cash and transferred an additional Rs 20 lakh to three different bank accounts based on the group’s assurances. However, after three months of no progress, he demanded his money back, only to face threats and hostile behavior from the accused. Patani stated that Shivendra Pratap Singh, someone he knew personally, introduced him to two others, Diwakar Garg and Acharya Jayaprakash. The suspects allegedly claimed to have strong political connections and promised to secure a high-ranking position for Patani, such as chairman or vice chairman in a government commission. To lend credibility to their scheme, they introduced an accomplice posing as an “officer on special duty” named Himanshu, further convincing Patani of their influence.

Senate should not confirm Tulsi Gabbard and Matt Gaetz until the FBI investigates them, says John Bolton
Tulsi Gabbard is being deemed as a 'threat to national security', according to former national security adviser, John Bolton, who has also warned about her deep ties with Russia, according to reports. Bolton is of the view that Gabbard or Matt Gaetz ought to have a confirmation hearing until they have both had full-field FBI investigations to skim through every single detail of their lives, so that any hint of scandal or threat to national security can be detected. According to Bolton, Americans may have 'lost their minds' when it comes to collecting national intelligence. after Gabbard was chosen as the director of national intelligence. Bolton also said that Gabbard and Gaetz are the two worst Cabinet appointments in recent history, according to The Hill's report. Bolton has even stated that until Trump had announced his own pick of Cabinet members, he was considering the current set of Cabinet members to be the worst of the entire lot across Presidential history under the Biden administration.

Chicago Tribune, Oprah's hometown newspaper, blasts her for taking $1 million to share stage with Kamala Harris
Among the campaign expenses by Kamala Harris, there were two payments of $500,000 each to Harpo Productions, that was done on October 15, 2024, according to the Federal Election Commission filings. Winfrey is the chairwoman and CEO of that very company, according to the DailyMail UK. Therefore, it became quite clear that Winfrey had appeared on events in presence of Kamala Harris in exchange for money, and not just out of love and endorsement of the Democrat candidate. For Winfrey, it apparently was all business, and Harris also used up her war-chest to mislead the US voters, according to reports. However, these actions by Harris are the ones that landed her in millions of dollars in debt, something that has been take note of by US donors, who generously provided for the Democrat campaign, but it did not suffice due to overspending, and not staying within the campaign budget. This has led to the campaign staffers not receiving due money, which has taken the Harris team on the verge of bankruptcy, say reports.

Reports say explosive clashes taking place in Harris team, members angry over pervasive lack of transparency over finances and analytics
Harris' campaign broke records and shot through roofs for the speed in which they were able to garner over a billion dollars in donations to fund her Presidential run. Yet, even after more than a week that she conceded defeat to Donald Trump, her campaign is still asking for funds from commoners through text messages and emails. The messages are reportedly claiming that a number of key electoral fights are still in the process of counting, or are too close to call, for which they would require money. These messages might not stop soon, until all races are officially called.
