Union Minister Suresh Gopi calls Indira Gandhi "mother of India"
Union Minister Suresh Gopi on Wednesday described former PM Indira Gandhi as the "mother of India" and late Congress Chief Minister K Karunakaran as a «courageous administrator». The BJP leader also called Karnuakaran and Marxist veteran E K Nayanar as his «political gurus». Gopi was speaking to reporters after visiting the memorial of Karunakaran, "Murali Mandiram" located in Punkunnam here. Interestingly, Suresh Gopi had won Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency by dashing the hopes of Karunakaran's son and Congress leader K Muraleedharan who finished third in a triangular contest in the April 26 polls. Urging mediapersons not to add any political connotation to his visit to Karunakaran memorial, the BJP leader said he came here to pay his respects to his «guru». He said like Nayanar and his wife Sarada Teacher, he had close relations with Karunakaran and his wife Kalyanikutty Amma also.

Why it is time to focus on plastic waste recycling and renewables
By By Aditya Pareek Business Development Head, Race Eco Chain Ltd The growing demand for resources and the increasing challenges of waste management have put the recycling industry in the spotlight. As the world adopts principles of circularity and sustainability, the demand for recycling sector is to transform from an unorganized sector into an organized with efficient pillar of the circular economy is growing. ESG & EPR Regulations India's plastic packaging waste supply chain is largely unorganized, with 70% of it lacking formal structure. The nation generates an estimated 26,000 tonnes of plastic waste daily. Government regulations, such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for Producers, Importers, and Brand Owners (PIBOs), will require the use of at least 30% recycled materials in packaging by 2025. This push for sustainability has significantly shifted the industry, driving unprecedented demand for recycled materials. Packaging waste in India is projected to increase by 30% by 2030. Additionally, SEBI's Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) guidelines mandate that companies ensure their suppliers comply with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards, starting with Fortune 500 companies and eventually extending to all organizations.

FAA investigating Boeing 737 ‘Dutch roll’ incident, ‘substantial’ damage
Boeing 737 jet owned by Southwest Airlines has been grounded amid a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) investigation into a rare mid-air manoeuvre called a “Dutch roll” that occurred mid-flight.The plane was travelling from Phoenix, Ariz., to Oakland, Calif., on May 25 when the yawing movement occurred nearly 32,000 feet (almost 9,750 metres) in the air.According to a 2022 Boeing safety pamphlet about Dutch rolls, the motion occurs when a plane moves in two axes as it tips from wingtip to wingtip while the tail rocks side to side. A Dutch roll can be caused by both wind and pilot input, but is nauseating for passengers in either circumstance.Federal officials said the Dutch roll may have been caused by damage to the jet’s backup power-control unit (PCU), which commands the jet’s vertical rudder. The damage was discovered during a post-flight inspection of the aircraft. The Boeing 737 has been grounded since the flight.
