tempo traveller in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district fell into a gorge on Saturday. As many as eight are feared dead and at least seven have been injured in the accident. The vehicle was carrying 23 people, reported PTI.
The accident happened near the Alakananda River on the Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway.
Local administration and the SDRF have been deployed to conduct a rescue operation. The injured have been sent to the nearest medical centre.
Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami condoled the accident and said that the District Magistrate would investigate the incident.
«I pray to God to grant the souls of the departed a place at His feet and provide strength for the bereaved family to bear this immense pain. I pray to Baba Kedar for the speedy recovery of the injured,» he wrote on his official handle.
