Why oil flows through the Iraq-Turkey pipeline have been halted
Here is an outline of the pipeline dispute: WHAT IS THE LATEST? On a visit to Erbil on Sunday, Iraqi oil minister Hayan Abdel-Ghani said he expects to reach an agreement with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and foreign oil companies to resume oil production from the Kurdish region's oilfields within three days, signalling a potential restart soon. Turkey had said last month the pipeline was ready to begin operations, but Iraq maintained it had received no official notification over the pipeline and a senior energy adviser told Reuters Baghdad was waiting to iron out «lingering financial and technical issues» ahead of any restart. WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? While Iraq, OPEC's second-largest oil producer, exports about 85% of its crude via ports in the south, the northern route via Turkey still accounts for about 0.5% of global oil supply. WHAT PROMPTED THE SHUTDOWN? Supplies of 450,000 barrels per day (bpd) were halted on March 25 after an International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) arbitration ruling. The ICC ordered Ankara to pay Baghdad damages of about $1.5 billion for unauthorised exports by the semi-autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) between 2014 and 2018. KRG exports flow through a KRG pipeline to Fish-Khabur on the northern Iraqi border, where the oil enters Turkey and is pumped to the port of Ceyhan on its Mediterranean coast. Iraq's federal government says state-owned marketer SOMO is the only party authorised to manage crude exports via Ceyhan.

The Lincoln Lawyer season 3 release date, episodes on Netflix: What we know so far
Lincoln Lawyer season 3 will be releasing on Netflix. The renewal for the third season was confirmed in August this year. «The Lincoln Lawyer» season 3 will have ten episodes, according to WhatsOnNetflix report. According to reports, the filming for «The Lincoln Lawyer» season 3 will commence in January 2024. However, no full schedule for the «The Lincoln Lawyer» season 3 has been unveiled. The filming will be carried out in Los Angeles, California. A significant question on everyone's mind revolves around the potential premiere of «The Lincoln Lawyer» Season 3 in the upcoming year. While this remains speculative, there's a possibility that the timeline might be challenging, raising the prospect of a split season, potentially around late 2024 or, in a less favorable scenario, early 2025, as per the WhatsOnNetflix report. This third season is set to delve into the narrative of the fifth book from the source material penned by Michael Connelly, titled «THE GODS OF GUILT.» Verizon is planning to offer the ad-supported versions of Netflix and Warner Bros Discovery's Max streaming services for about $10 a month combined instead of about $17, according to a source familiar with the matter. The discounted bundle is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, the source added. Netflix and Warner Bros will have to share revenue with Verizon, the source said. Reuters could not learn the financial terms of the contract. The Wall Street Journal first reported the news on last Thursday.

The 'paisa vasool' model of Indian IT firms must adapt to change
₹2.5-3 lakh per annum (or $4,500-6,500 at then prevailing exchange rates). Apart from some exceptions, it appears as if the hiring of fresh engineering talent at the same low salaries as two decades ago is an exploitative tactic that is still used by the country’s IT majors. Accounting for inflation, this means that engineers graduating today are only making a fraction of what their seniors did 20 years ago! The only exception was the sudden surge during the pandemic, which pushed global clients to outsource more of their operations in a bid to keep down costs.
