We see large opportunities in India, will start manufacturing in US this financial year: Hitesh Doshi, Waaree
Hitesh Doshi, Chairman & MD, Waaree Energies, says ALMM is one of the non-tariff barriers which is helping to promote Make in India. Just by bringing ALMM in for a short span, Indian module manufacturing capacity has increased and our exports have also increased. Doshi believes that this will not be restricted only to the module and in the coming days, we will see that more such things are coming for the entire value chain where the Waaree is also planning to expand in all these areas. You did this fundraiser to support the capex, but you are not alone in that. A lot of conglomerates right from Tatas to Adanis have announced their capex in this sector. Do you anticipate a threat of a supply glut if not immediately, maybe three to five years out? Hitesh Doshi: Of course, there is a huge demand which we had discussed in the last interview and this demand we also discussed right from 500 gigawatt of the present mission, as well as hydrogen, batteries, so all this we will need a huge supply chain. So, Waaree is going as per the plan, but it is not going to meet the entire requirement of the country. Apart from this, globally people are looking for India as a second supply chain. So, personally, I do not see there is going to be a glut or all that. This is the need of the hour and we will need this.

Waqf (Amendment) Bill emerges as key issue in by-polls in Kerala
Wayanad Lok Sabha seat and two Assembly segments in Kerala. The Catholic Church, whose followers have significant influence in the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat where Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi is trying her electoral luck, has backed the Bill brought by the BJP-led government at the Centre, opposing the provisions in the existing law. The Church alleged that numerous properties belonging to Christian families for generations in the villages of Cherai and Munambam in the Ernakulam district have been unlawfully claimed by the Waqf Board. On Monday, the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church-backed 'Deepika' daily published an editorial, criticising the Congress-led UDF and the CPI(M)-led LDF, accusing them of passing a unanimous resolution in the state Assembly «to protect the Waqf law without seeing the tears of the affected people.»

2 top stock recommendations from Shivangi Sarda
«So, levels per se, if we are expecting Nifty to hold above 24,440, then we could see round about 25,000 levels. And for the support, 24,150 would be important to watch out for,» says Shivangi Sarda, Motilal Oswal Financial Services. What is your expectation, is the worst over and from here on, we are expecting a Diwali cheer or it is still a bit sceptical at the moment? Shivangi Sarda: Of course, we have seen that some sort of a pressure was there the previous week, but we have seen a good pullback move today and we have somewhere got stuck at 24,440 levels, which is a crucial hurdle over here. So, once this level gets crossed, it is going to be somewhat of an end of the pain that we have seen in the last four weeks. But overall, we are seeing good buying interest emerging right at the start of this festive week. So, it is a good sign.

Mission Possible: Ingredients are here for India to manufacture AI, lead AI revolution, says Nvidia's Jensen Huang
Artificial Intelligence is making computers an instrument for everyone and not just for the privileged few, believes Jensen Huang, the iconic founder and chief executive of chip maker Nvidia. He allayed the fears that AI could consume jobs or replace humans and said that the technology will make everything more efficient and productive, saving key resources and elevating human capabilities. In a free-wheeling conversation with Sruthijith KK at the ET Conversations event in Mumbai on Friday, Huang, 61, who steered the company out of turbulent early years and turned it into a $3.43 trillion behemoth that it is today, said that he still wakes up fearing that Nvidia could even now go out of business. No one in technology should get too comfortable or complacent, said the top boss helming the world’s second most valued company. His message to India’s IT services industry was unequivocal: Move from the back office to the front office and lead the AI revolution. Edited excerpts: I want to start with a core technical question. How is your leather jacket holding up in the Mumbai heat? (Laughs) It’s fine. Thank you! I enjoy the heat.

Bankruptcy court rejects plea to implement Zee-Sony merger
bankruptcy court recently disposed of an application filed by Phantom Studios India (PSIPL), which sought to implement a merger scheme between Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEEL) and Sony Group companies Bangla Entertainment Private (BEPL) and Culver Max Entertainment (CMEPL). The National Company Law Tribunal bench ruled that the application from a minor shareholder, seeking to enforce the scheme, is moot. It said that the shareholder's right to enforce the scheme lapsed after the companies' boards approved the scheme's withdrawal, despite his minor shareholding. PSIPL, formerly known as Mad Man Film Ventures, owned about 1.3 million shares of Zee Entertainment, valued at around ₹50 crore, at the time of the tribunal filing.

Vav assembly bypoll: Contest between BJP, Congress & two rebel candidates
Vav assembly seat scheduled for November 13, it has turned into a de-facto battle of prestige for the Opposition Congress that has fielded Gulabsinh Rajput, a close confidant of Geniben Thakor, the lone Congress member of Lok Sabha from Gujarat. With AAP finally relenting from the contest after initial postering, the electoral battle is now clearly bipolar with BJP fielding Swarupji Thakor at the last minute. The Vav assembly segment in Banaskantha has a maximum population of Thakor voters at 70,000 followed by Chaudhary and Kshatriya voters. While the seat also has significant Dalit, Brahmin and Muslim voters, it is the Thakor and Chaudhary voters who play a decisive role in the outcome. The Congress high command refrained from fielding a Thakor candidate after fielding Geniben in the Lok Sabha and rewarded Gulabsinh, a Kshatriya candidate who had played a crucial role in Geniben's Lok Sabha campaign. Rajput is also a very popular leader in the region in his own right. However, he had lost to Shankar Chaudhary, Speaker of Gujarat legislative assembly from nearby Tharad constituency in 2022, Thakor had lost to Geniben in Vav in last assembly polls.

GST classical example of cooperative federalism: CJI Chandrachud
GST) in India was a «classical example of cooperative federalism,» Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud said here on Saturday. The courts have, over the last few decades, evolved a robust framework on federalism to ensure that the states' rights are protected, he said, speaking on 'Understanding Federalism and Its Potential" at the inaugural annual lecture series organized by the Marathi daily 'Loksatta'. Federalism, for Indians, is not a «monolithic concept» but has multiple facets, the CJI said.
