film love show actress rights Videos Relationships This is when Ben Affleck realized he didn’t want to be married to Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck had problems right from the start of their marriage. When they weren't in front of the cameras, they would hardly talk to each other during what was meant to be the happiest time of their lives. Only a few months after their official separation date in April, on August 20, Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck. Fans are certain they have discovered the exact moments the Good Will Hunting actor decided he no longer wanted to be married to the Wedding Planner actress, even though it hasn't been confirmed what their particular marital problems were. While Affleck and Lopez lived separately for a while, ignoring their second wedding anniversary in July, rumours about them circulated online for weeks. Fans questioned whether the couple would get back together or call it quits, with the singer now living in the Hamptons and Affleck in Los Angeles. The latter was the case. markets COST Mobile President country Department rights Has e-commerce boom really hampered the growth of brick-and-mortar retail?
Narendra Modi's BJP came to power. As then-secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (Dipp), Kant was presiding over a stakeholder discussion on whether multi-brand retail should be allowed in India. Over a decade since, Piyush Goyal has, yet again, highlighted his government's concerns over the growth of ecommerce in India — that there will be social disruption, there is predatory pricing in ecommerce, and the number of mobile stores in the country has declined over the past 10 years. He is concerned — and rightly so — about the fate of millions of small retailers and kirana stores in the country. The point that I made to Kant in 2014 still stands: ecommerce offers consumers a much wider variety of products, whether coloured socks, numbered swimming goggles or air-purifiers. It benefits both sellers and buyers. Customers in Tier-2 and -3 towns access a wider variety of products online, without relying on someone to go to a metro to purchase it. Sellers find buyers across the country.

Citi Election President country rights Her mother's daughter: How Kamala Harris' speech foregrounded her childhood
India has become the flavour of the US presidential elections. For the first time, two Americans of Indian origin, Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy, figured as possible candidates for the presidential elections. When JD Vance became former President Donald Trump's running mate, spotlight fell on his wife Usha Vance, an Indian American and practicing Hindu. With the nomination of Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party’s candidate for the presidency, once again India has come to foreground. In her speech on Thursday night in which she formally accepted the Democratic Party’s nomination for the presidency, Harris spoke at length about her childhood days when she was raised by her mother Shymala Gopalan alone, who had divorced from her Jamaican American husband. What Harris said about her mother Harris started her speech by remembering her mother. «But I’m no stranger to unlikely journeys. So, my mother, our mother, Shyamala Harris, had one of her own. And I miss her every day, and especially right now. And I know she’s looking down smiling. I know that,» she said.

markets UPS show information rights ECB policymakers' views converging on Sept rate cut, sources say
European Central Bank policymakers are lining up behind another interest rate cut in September and only major data surprises in the coming weeks could delay the move, on and off record conversations with seven sources indicate. Financial markets already overwhelmingly expect a fresh rate cut next month, but policymakers have been circumspect on their next move after the central bank was criticised by some for too overtly committing itself before its first rate cut back in June. A raft of figures on growth, wages and prices in recent weeks has started to sway them and many are increasingly open to discussing their views, arguing that conditions laid out for a cut are being fulfilled.

markets UPS wellness Trade recommendations rights Commentary Both consumption or capex stocks back with a bang; look for proxy plays to defence, railways: Devang Mehta
Devang Mehta, Director-Equity Advisory, Spark Private Wealth, says a combination of sectors related to capex and consumption and certain sectors in credit growth will be a good investment portfolio if somebody has a one-and-a-half, two-year horizon. Mehta further says look into proxy plays like bearing companies for railways and defence stocks. What are you doing in the markets right now? Any fresh stocks that you have managed to recommend to your clients? Any fresh ideas? Devang Mehta: I will talk more about themes and sectors rather than ideas. I will give certain examples on the way. We feel that both sides of the market – be it consumption or capex – have come back with a bang. Post the elections, post the budget, and post this volatility that we saw a couple of weeks back during the yen carry trade, the market has gone from strength to strength. So, whichever sectors were not performing, be it FMCG companies, auto companies and even discretionary consumption companies like Titan, and Trent, have come up with a good set of numbers.

Election War stage country rights Interviews 'The answer is no': Pro-Palestinian delegates say their request for a speaker at DNC was shut down
Chicago: Leaders of an «Uncommitted» movement, which garnered hundreds of thousands of votes in Democratic primaries across the nation in protest of the Israel-Hamas war, have been negotiating for weeks to secure a speaking slot for a Palestinian American at the Democratic National Convention this week. The negotiations stalled late Wednesday when leaders with the Uncommitted National Movement say a Democratic National Committee official called and delivered a firm response: «The answer is no.» The leader, Abbas Alawieh, an «Uncommitted» delegate to the convention and co-founder of the movement, described the call as shocking after weeks of talks that he felt were positive. In response, he and other delegates decided to stage a sit-in outside Chicago's United Center, where the convention is being held. They spent the night on the sidewalk on Wednesday, and vowed to remain until their request was granted or the convention ended Thursday night. «When we ran out of options — doing everything we can and working from the inside, when we ran out of options as uncommitted delegates, we just sat down,» Alawieh said in an interview Thursday.
