Jon Bon Jovi is obsessed with Benjamin Franklin
Before he was a world-famous rock star, Jon Bon Jovi was a kid in Sayreville, N.J., playing in bands with his friends. That evolution, from opening at local clubs to fronting Bon Jovi, is chronicled in a new four-part Hulu docuseries, “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story," about the musician’s life and career. “You’ve heard that old story about people saying that their life flashes before them just before they die," said Bon Jovi, 62.

The push to store renewable energy in massive salt caverns
On a plain in western Utah, two massive caverns—each roughly big enough to house the Empire State Building—are being hollowed out of rock salt a mile underground. Salt caverns like these are emerging as one possible solution to the question of how to store solar and wind energy for later use. It’s a three-step process.

Polls, politics, and heatwaves set to rock the national capital. Will Delhi suffer water woes like Bengaluru?
water crisis? With polls, politics, and heatwaves coming up in the national capital the common man's life will be at stake. While the Delhi Jal Board claimed that there was no deficit in water provision, it is also true that water production has remained unchanged over the past year. As per ToI report, in Feb 2023, DJB's internal report to chief minister «Arvind Kejriwal» stated that the optimal water production level was 990 million gallons per day (MGD). On April 3 this year, the water utility said in a written statement that water production in the capital stood at 990.2 MGD on average between the end of March and start of April. Many within DJB privately accepted that this was going to be the toughest summer that the water utility has faced.

Could Modi 3.0 be strikingly different from Modi 2.0? Swaminathan Aiyar explains
Swaminathan Aiyar, Consulting Editor, ET Now, says “the emphasis is on more of the same. The thing is not to be different. The aim of the exercise is saying I am guaranteeing you that I have done so well for you. I am such a fantastic guy, the world looks up to me, I have improved India’s stature in the world, I have defended you against Pakistan, so I am such a great guy. I am giving you more of the same and I am giving my guarantee that I am more of the same. So, the emphasis really is more of the same, I would say, rather than saying how it is different.” Aiyar further says: “In four areas – education, employment, environment, and the police judicial system, major structural reforms are required, but they have not been attempted. And they have not been attempted because they are not easy areas to do. The attempts so far have not got very far. The BJP does not want to rock the boat at this particular point of time, even though it does have the political capital to do so. So, it is not attempting to do structural change in these four very important areas.”

Distracted by own horse-trading agendas, BJP neglected to serve Maharashtra people: Congress
Congress on Wednesday alleged that the BJP has neglected the people of Maharashtra as it was distracted by its own «horse-trading and deal-making» agendas, and asked how much donation did it take to engineer the collapse of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh attacked the BJP ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Maharashtra's Ramtek and posed questions on key issues affecting the state. «Today, the PM heads to Ramtek in Maharashtra, a state that was rocked by hundreds of farmer suicides last year, and where corruption charges continue to pile up. Distracted by its own horse-trading and deal-making agendas, the BJP has neglected to serve the people,» Ramesh said in a post on X. Posing questions to the prime minister, the Congress leader said that on an average day in Maharashtra, seven farmers take their own lives, and this heartbreaking statistic comes from the state's Minister for Relief and Rehabilitation, who reported that 2,366 farmers died by suicide between January and October last year.

Panama Papers Scandal: Twenty-seven people are set to go on trial on Monday for money laundering in connection with the "Panama Papers" tax evasion scandal, which revealed how many of the world's wealthy stashed assets in offshore companies. The 2016 revelations rocked governments, exposed high-profile personalities, triggered scores of investigations around the world and dealt a blow to Panama's reputation as an offshore financial hub. The defendants due to go on trial in a Panamanian criminal court include Jurgen Mossack and Ramon Fonseca Mora, the founders of the now-defunct law firm at the centre of the scandal.
