Diljit Dosanjh reveals he was sent away from home when he was 11, admits he grew distant from his parents
Punjabi music sensation Diljit Dosanjh recently opened up on a rather stressful episode from his childhood and his complicated equation with his parents. In an interview with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia aka Beer Biceps, the ‘Born To Shine’ hitmaker revealed his bond with his parents Sukhwinder Kaur and Balbir Singh Dosanjh. In the podcast with Beer Biceps, the ‘Good Newwz’ star said that his parents sent him away with a relative without consulting as they wanted him to have a better life. “I was eleven years old when I left my home and started living with my mamaji (maternal uncle). I came to the city leaving my village behind. I shifted to Ludhiana. He said ‘send him to the city with me’ and my parents said ‘Yes, take him.’ My parents did not even ask me..” he told Allahabadia. Dosanjh said that since the digital revolution had still not taken place, mobile phones were not prevalent and as he did not have money, he couldn’t call his family on a daily basis. “I used to stay alone in a small room. I used to just go to school and come back, there wasn’t any TV. I had a lot of time. Also, we didn’t have mobile phones back then, even if I had to call home or receive a call from my parents, it cost us money. So I started becoming distant from my family,” he reflected.

Sanjay Singh’s release to stop growing sympathy for AAP in election season: Neerja Chowdhury
Neerja Chowdhury, Journalist & Political Commentator, says “whether Sanjay Singh’s release has implications for the other three Aam Aadmi Party leaders who are in prison, including the chief minister of Delhi, remains to be seen. What view the Supreme Court takes, what happens if ED opposes their bail? The Prevention of Money Laundering Act was strengthened in 2008 to deny bail. So, it may not happen automatically unless the Supreme Court takes a strong view on it. ” How significant is the Supreme Court granting bail for Sanjay Singh in the wake of what is happening with Arvind Kejriwal right now? Neerja Chowdhury: I think Arvind Kejriwal's arrest in the middle of an ongoing election has created a sense of too much happening. I went to the Ramlila grounds where the rally was held and that is a general sense I got by talking to the people of Delhi.

ETMarkets Fund Manager Talk: This fund manager is betting on 3 major themes to play on the India growth story
As domestic growth prospects remain promising, backed by capital investments and policy support, Ambit Asset Management is betting on three major themes to play on India’s story. Mass consumption, manufacturing and industrial, and exports are the three major themes that the asset management firm is bullish on. “We are becoming increasingly positive on the mass consumption theme, driven by the recovery in the Hindi belt, deflation in raw material prices, and large companies taking aggressive price actions,” said Bhargav Buddhadev, fund manager at Ambit Asset Management, in an interview with ETMarkets. Buddhadev holds a positive outlook on the manufacturing and industrial theme, as he anticipates a revival in private capital expenditure. Lastly, he favors the export theme, given the government's implementation of various policy initiatives such as signing FTAs and incentivizing several sectors through PLI schemes. Edited excerpts:

Boeing heard all the warnings but just didn’t listen to its people
The strange thing about Boeing’s crisis is that so many people saw it coming—and tried to stop it. The planemaker’s safety problems have been obvious since two 737Max jets crashed in late 2018 and early 2019, killing 346 people. Boeing’s engineers were warning managers of potential quality problems as far back as 2001.
