Dalmia Bharat’s profit slumped by three-fifths in the September quarter as weak prices of cement weighed on earnings, even as the cement-maker sold more cement during the quarter as compared to the previous year. During investigation, one more grenade was recovered from his house and his accomplice Hussain was also arrested along with a pistol, one magazine and nine rounds, the ADGP told reporters in Poonch. «They are part of a larger conspiracy and tried to create terror in Poonch district by carrying out grenade attacks at various locations, including a temple, a gurdwara, an Army camp and a hospital, to harm brotherhood,» he said.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has cleared a resolution passed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah-led cabinet urging the Centre to restore the statehood to the Union territory, officials said on Saturday. «The cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Omar Abdullah on Thursday passed a unanimous resolution for restoration of statehood in its original form,» an official spokesperson said. Without giving any further details, the officials asserted that the LG has cleared the resolution passed by the cabinet. The spokesperson said the restoration of statehood will be a beginning of a healing process, reclaiming the constitutional rights and protecting the identity of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
