Zerodha co-founder Nithin Kamath said the company may have to reconsider its zero-brokerage model, or even increase brokerage fees for trades in the futures and options (F&O) segment, after Sebi’s directive that all market infrastructure institutions, including stock exchanges, must charge members a uniform fee unlinked to trading volumes.

Nifty on Tuesday ended 113 points higher to form a long bull candle on the daily chart and also hit a fresh record high intraday. The underlying trend of Nifty continues to be positive. Encounter in Doda; search operation in Kathua widened
armed forces and infiltrators on Tuesday afternoon in a remote forest area of Doda in Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said the exchange of fire took place during a cordon and search operation in Ghadi Bhagwah forest, following a tipoff regarding the movement of infiltrators in the area. «Two to three infiltrators were present in the area and heavy firing was going on in the area till late evening,» an official said. This is the third incident of violence in Jammu division in the last three days. Earlier, five armymen, including a junior commissioned officer, were killed and five others injured in Kathua district, while an armyman was injured on Sunday in Rajouri district. Following the attack on the Machedi-Kindli-Malhar road near Badnota village, a massive search operation was underway in the area which is along the border, around 150 km from the main Kathua town. Top brass of the J&K police visited the area and held a security review meeting. The joint search operation teams of the Army, police and CRPF were assisted by drone surveillance and elite para commandos. Sniffer dogs have been deployed in the area to look for infiltrators in the thick forest region. A team of the National Investigation Agency officials have also reached the spot where the incident happened and started its probe into the matter.

Vedanta to raise Rs 1,000 cr in debt
Vedanta Ltd will issue secured, rated, listed non-redeemable non-convertible debentures (NCDs) worth ₹1,000 crore later this week. The 15-month tenure NCDs will have a floating rate linked to MIBOR. Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including debt repayment and capital expenditure. The NCDs will be raised on July 11 and pay 3.75%over one month overnight indexed swap (OIS) rate. As of March 2024, Vedanta's gross debt was ₹71,759 crore, with net debt at ₹56,338 crore. The company held cash and equivalents of ₹15,421 crore. FY24 finance costs rose to ₹9,465 crore from ₹6,225 crore, driven by increased borrowings and higher interest rates.
