Congress promise of Rs 400 per day national minimum wage is real '400 paar': Jairam Ramesh
Congress on Wednesday reiterated its 'Shramik Nyay' guarantees on International Labour Day, and said its promise of Rs 400 per day national minimum wage is the real '400 paar'. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh listed the party's guarantees for labourers and alleged that the past 10 years have been of 'anyay kaal' for them. On the occasion of International Labour Day it is most appropriate to recall the 'Shramik Nyay' guarantees in the Congress Nyay Patra for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he said. Elaborating on the guarantees, Ramesh said the Congress has promised 'Shram ka Samman' (Dignity for Labour)' with Rs 400 per day national minimum wage, including for MGNREGA.

How to make budget-friendly retirement planning with the help of mutual munds and insurance
Retirement planning is vital for securing your financial future. It ensures that you can maintain your lifestyle and meet expenses during your golden years. As the years go by, retirement becomes an increasingly pressing reality for every working individual. The prospect of retirement brings forth a multitude of uncertainties, but with proper planning, one can ensure a financially secure and comfortable future. In today’s dynamic financial landscape, two essential tools stand out for retirement planning: Mutual Funds (MF) and Insurance. Mutual Funds, with their diverse investment options, offer a robust platform for building a retirement corpus. Through systematic investment plans (SIPs), individuals can invest small amounts regularly, benefitting from the power of compounding over time. Equity Mutual Funds, known for their potential for high returns over the long term, can be a cornerstone of retirement planning, albeit with a higher risk. For those seeking stability, Debt Mutual Funds provide a safer avenue with moderate returns. Furthermore, retirement-oriented Mutual Fund schemes like Retirement Funds or Pension Funds are specifically designed to align with long-term retirement goals. These funds often dynamically adjust asset allocation over time, gradually shifting from high-risk to low-risk investments as retirement approaches, ensuring capital preservation.

What’s vexing ICICI Securities’ minority shareholders?
MUMBAI : Mumbai: Minority shareholders of ICICI Securities Ltd are questioning the rationale and intent of mutual funds that bought shares of the brokerage firm in February at a premium only to vote in favour of delisting the company shortly after. By buying the shares at a premium, and then voting for the delisting to get ICICI Bank shares in exchange, the funds hurt the interests of their unit holders, say the minority shareholders.

That purpose is served. There was no prayer to change the judgement,” the official said. South Korea discusses joining part of AUKUS pact with US, UK and Australia
South Korea has held talks about joining part of the AUKUS defence deal between the U.S., Britain and Australia, Defence Minister Shin Won-sik said on Wednesday, only weeks after the pact said it would consider including Japan. Formed in 2021, AUKUS is a two-stage security pact to counteract China's growing power in the Asia Pacific region. While a first stage to give Australia nuclear submarine technology is limited to the core trio, they have raised the possibility of other countries joining a second stage, or «Pillar 2», that aims to share other military technology.

Supreme Court spectrum plea: Setback for Centre
Supreme Court registrar hasn't accepted the government's plea for allowing the administrative allocation of spectrum in some special cases, marking a setback for the Centre. The apex court had ruled that frequencies had to be auctioned as they were a national resource in the 2G spectrum allocation case in 2012. The registrar said the government was seeking a review of the 2012 order «in the guise» of seeking clarifications and said the move was «misconceived», adding that there was no «reasonable cause» for entertaining the plea and that too after a lengthy period of time. «I refuse to receive the present miscellaneous application (MA), as it does not disclose any reasonable cause for being entertained,» Pavanesh D, registrar, judicial listing, said in the order that ET has seen. «Accordingly, it is declined to be received under the provisions of Order XV Rule 5 of the Supreme Court Rules, 2013.»

Currently, for most IT services firms, the North American market contributes 50-60% to the total revenue, followed by Europe at around 30%. The regional markets still constitute a small portion of the total revenue pie.
