Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) on Wednesday announced a Rs 5,400 crore investment plan for expanding its capacity by 4.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). Speaking to journalists in Delhi, Abhyuday Jindal, JSL's Managing Director said this investment will be funded through internal accruals with minimal debt raise. Company officials said JSL expects its debt to rise by Rs 300-500 crore, over the existing Rs 4,800 crore, by the end of the current fiscal due to the expansion plans. JSL said it will be developing and operating a stainless steel melt shop (SMS) in Indonesia with an annual production capacity of 1.2 MTPA. This will increase the company’s melting capacity by over 40% to 4.2 MTPA at a Rs 700 crore investment. This investment will be made through Jindal Stainless' Singapore based subsidiary which will enter into Joint Venture (JV) with Zenith International Capital Pte. Ltd, to operate the SMS in Indonesia.

Delhi government issued an advisory for schools on Wednesday, asking them to ensure that the e-mails received at their official e-mail addresses are checked timely, after at least 100 schools in the capital and neighbouring Noida received a hoax bomb threat. At least 100 schools in Delhi-NCR received an identical bomb threat by e-mail on Wednesday, triggering mass evacuations and massive searches as panick-stricken parents rushed to pick up their children. The threat was declared a hoax as «nothing objectionable» was found during searches, police said. «In view of the current situation wherein bomb threats were received by a few schools of Delhi in early hours of morning of 01.05.2024, it is advised that School Administrators/Managers/Heads of Government/Government Aided and Unaided Recognised Schools under the Directorate of Education, GNCT Delhi should ensure that emails/messages received on official email id of the school at any time of the day (before, during or after school hours) are checked timely,» read the advisory issued by the Directorate of Education.

The downstream expansion in Jajpur and acquisition of CSPL are aligned with the Indonesian SMS capacity,” Jindal Stainless said in a stock exchange filing.

YES Bank’s March quarter earnings, domestic brokerage firm ICICI Securities has retained its ‘sell’ rating on the private bank with a target price of Rs 20 saying that the valuations remain unattractive. “The bank is making concerted efforts in organic PSL origination, which should ease incremental RIDF burden, aiding yield and RoA trajectory. We estimate sharp improvement in RoA to 1.0% by FY26 vs FY24 RoA of 0.3%, led by improving NIM trajectory and benign credit costs. Supam Maheshwari, cofounder and CEO of IPO-bound mother and childcare e-commerce platform FirstCry, saw a 49% drop in monthly remuneration to Rs 8.61 crore for the first nine months of FY24, according to the company’s draft red herring prospectus (DRHP). Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) on Wednesday said it has secured an AAA rating by CARE Ratings. With this development, the company has become the first large-sized private infrastructure developer to get this recognition, APSEZ said in a statement. «The rating is largely driven by APSEZ's robust integrated business model, strong industry position, consistent market share growth with healthy profitability, coupled with high liquidity and low leverage,» the agency said. In FY24, APSEZ handled a cargo volume of 419.95 MMT, 24 per cent higher than the previous fiscal.
