BWSSB) have taken proactive measures to provide treated water to the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium for the upcoming IPL 2024 cricket matches. The decision comes amidst growing concerns about the impact of the water crisis on the scheduled matches. Officials from the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) convened with Ramprasat Manohar, chairman of the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), to secure an uninterrupted water supply to the stadium during the matches. Approximately 75,000 litres of water per day will be sourced from the Cubbon Park wastewater treatment plant in Sampangi Rama Nagar for this purpose. «We will supply so much water per day for three days through tankers. The tertiary treated water is as good as potable water. By supplying this water we, at the BWSSB, also want to send a message to the society about the need to use and reuse our water. We want to promote the use of treated water for non drinking needs such as use in toilets, gardening, and car-washing,» BWSSB Chairman Ram Prasath Manohar said.

Shared by a user named «Mr Rc,» the schedule of a 17-yeardepicted a challenging routine, with the student rising at 4:30 am after just 4.5 hours of sleep. The entire day was dedicated to preparation, with only two 15-minute naps and breaks for meals. Many IITians reacted to this post. Aman Goel, CEO of GreyLabs AI and an IIT Bombay alumnus, criticized the post as exaggerated, stating that he and many other typical IITians he studied for 8 to 10 hours daily, occasionally extending to 12 to 14 hours during demanding periods. Despite occasional long hours, Mr Goel said, he ensured 8 hours of sleep daily and balanced his schedule with leisure activities and family time. Like many others, Goel began preparing for the IIT JEE at 15 and appeared for the exam at 17. He also highlighted the studying habits of his IITian friends, asserting that none, including top rankers, studied as intensely as portrayed in the viral post.
