On the other hand, Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 1.15 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.06 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.5 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.38 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.26 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

In the Nifty index, Tata Motors Ltd.(up 4.73 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 2.77 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 2.63 per cent), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 2.35 per cent) and Nestle India Ltd.(up 2.08 per cent) stood among the top gainers.

MOIL(up 1.33%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 1.15%), Ashapura Minechem(up 0.92%), NMDC Ltd(up 0.57%) and Coal India(up 0.24%) stood among the top gainers. Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 1.88%), KIOCL(down 1.68%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 1.11%), Pokarna(down 0.51%) and Lexus Granito(down 0.13%) were among the top losers of the day.

MphasiS Ltd. traded 3.65 per cent up at Rs 2362.35 at around 01:24PM (IST) on Friday. The stock had closed at Rs 2451.95 in the previous session.

Bajaj Holdings & Investment Ltd. traded at Rs 6813.55 on BSE at 11:57AM (IST) on Friday, up 0.33 per cent. The stock quoted a 52-week low price of Rs 5557.05 and a high of Rs 7638.0.

Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company Ltd. rose 1.01 per cent to Rs 1257.2 in Friday's trade. It hit an intraday high of Rs 1260.0 and low of Rs 1243.5, respectively, during the day.

PI Industries Ltd. traded 0.11 per cent down at Rs 3484.0 at 12:02PM (IST) on Friday, even as BSE benchmark Sensex dropped 347.64 points to 66060.75. The stock had closed at Rs 3488.15 in the previous session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 114.75 points down at 19679.25, while BSE Sensex was down 401.02 points at 66007.37 at the time of writing this report. In the Nifty index, Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 1.99 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.69 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 1.56 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(up 0.66 per cent) and Coal India Ltd.(up 0.60 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 1.64%), Sheetal Cool Products(down 1.13%), Varun Beverages(down 0.77%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 0.70%), Dabur India(down 0.66%), Prataap Snacks(down 0.65%), Britannia Industries(down 0.49%), Marico(down 0.33%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 0.31%) and Emami(down 0.29%) were among the top losers.

Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.(down 1.24 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

On the BSE, Trident Lifeline(down 11.00 per cent), Angel Fibers(down 9.97 per cent), SSPN Finance L(down 9.88 per cent), Photoquip Ind(down 9.71 per cent) and Sea Gold Infra.(down 8.96 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session. In the Nifty pack, 16 stocks traded in the green, while 34 stocks traded in the red.

Karma Energy(down 3.66%), Energy Development Company(down 2.44%), Alstom T&D India(down 2.04%), Torrent Power(down 1.82%), Power & Instrumentation(Gujarat)(down 1.73%), Adani Power(down 1.43%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 1.03%), GE Power India Limited(down 0.99%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 0.94%) and Adani Energy Solutions(down 0.91%) were among the top losers.

HCL Technologies share price rallied over 2% in the early trade on Friday after the company reported its earnings for the second quarter of FY24. HCL Technologies share price rose as much as 2.77% to ₹1,258.00 apiece on the BSE.HCL Technologies, the third largest IT services company in India, reported 8.55% QoQ growth in Q2FY24 net profit at ₹3,833 crore.

Sensex declined 64 points to close at 66,408 and the broader Nifty dropped 17 points to close below 19,800 level. Stocks that were in focus included names like NMDC, which rose 5.42%, Britannia, which rose 0.1%, and Laurus Labs, whose shares jumped 0.14% on Thursday. For the breakout trades now, 152-150 would be the key support levels to watch out.
