Employee, freelancers, or business owners who have clients abroad are going to benefit the most from this visa. Those who travel to Sri Lanka on Digital Nomad visa will not be allowed to work in the country or engage in economic activities of the country. The launching of the Digital Nomad Visa was proposed by Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles, aiming to attract global talent.

Even as Fixed Deposit interest rates for various tenors have gone up this year, post-tax returns for many depositors are still below the expected inflation number for FY 2023-24, a calculation done by FundsIndia in its monthly Wealth Conversations Report (September 2023) shows.

By enabling an additional interest of 0.5% over and above the existing extra 0.5%, SBI’s WECARE fixed deposit scheme has helped senior citizens earn more on their long-term deposits of 5 to 10 years. The scheme was launched during the pandemic on May 12, 2020, and it is valid till the end of this month, i.e. September 30, 2023, according to information on the SBI website.

Net inflows into open-ended equity mutual fund (MF) schemes jumped to a five-month high in August at Rs 20,161 crore.
