Avesh Khan became the most expensive uncapped player in IPL history, with a bid of Rs 10 crore. In the list of top 10 most expensive players events two Indians — Yuvraj Singh and Ishan Kishan — make into the list while English all-rounder Ben Stokes features twice.

Sikkim had the highest per capita income at current prices of Rs 5,19,964, whereas Bihar had the lowest per capita income in 2022-23, according to data shared by Rao Inderjeet Singh, Minister of State (independent charge) of the Ministry of Statistics Planning and Programme Implementation, informed Rajya Sabha, Monday. “The differences in per capita income of States is due to different levels of economic development in each state,” Rao stated. An ET analysis shows that Odisha witnessed in the highest gains in per capita terms over the last three years, with its income growing 45%, whereas Punjab was the worst performer with 20.6% rise since 2020-21. The average rate of increase across states was 31.8% between 2022-23 and 2020-21, with 11 of 22 states for which data was available for all three years, recording a higher growth in per capita income in current terms compared to the national average. He further pointed that the government had instituted various programmes under inclusive development programme like Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, additional Emergency Working Capital Funding for farmers through NABARD, concessional credit through Kisan Credit Cards; fund transfer under PM-KISAN, PM Fasal Bima Yojana claim payments, to ensure inclusive growth, under its commitment for Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas. He further pointed to schemes like Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin, which the government had instituted to improve the quality of life in rural areas “through employment generation, strengthening of livelihood opportunities,
