Zendaya and Tom Holland Engagement Rumors: Here's what Euphoria star has to say
Euphoria star Zendaya has dismissed rumors of an engagement to her longtime boyfriend and Spider-Man: Homecoming co-star, Tom Holland. The speculations were triggered earlier this week when she posted a picture of herself wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring on her ring finger. In an Instagram Story shared on Thursday, Zendaya addressed the rumors, stating, «I can't post anything, you guys. You think that's how I would drop the news?» She also clarified that the ring in the photo was on her right hand, not her left, and explained, «I posted it for my hat, not for the ring on my right finger, you guys, seriously.» The original photo shows Zendaya taking a selfie in front of a glossy car window, with her face obscured by her phone and sunglasses. She wore a Golden State Warriors cap, a gray short-sleeve tee, and a pearl ring on her right hand. Zendaya and Tom Holland have been in a relationship for approximately two years. Holland, in a June interview, revealed that Zendaya had been his childhood celebrity crush and humorously mentioned that he had employed the «long game» to win her over. He added that working together on-screen as characters in love had its perks. In a delightful moment in June, the couple was seen singing along to Beyoncé's «Love on Top» during the singer's Renaissance Tour concert in Poland. The video of their adorable duet quickly went viral. Despite the ongoing rumors and speculations surrounding their relationship, Zendaya and Tom Holland have not officially announced any plans for engagement or marriage.

Expendables 4 box office collection: Sylvester Stallone starrer Expend4bles debuts positively
Expendables 4' or 'Expend4bles' jointly produced by Millennium Media and Lionsgate, made its debut as the sole new wide release on Thursday night, garnering $750,000 in preview showings. This action-thriller, featuring Jason Statham and Sylvester Stallone as elite mercenaries embarking on a daring mission, is anticipated to claim the top spot at the box office upon its official release. With an R rating, the film is projected to open with approximately $15 million, marking the lowest opening among all entries in the franchise. Some estimates suggest it could reach $17 million, surpassing the $15.8 million opening of «Expendables 3» in 2014. The series began with a bang as the original 'Expendables' kicked off with a $34.8 million opening in 2010, followed by «Expendables 2» in 2012, which started with $28.5 million. In comparison, 'Expendables 3' earned $875,000 in Thursday preview grosses back in 2014, as per reports. The latest installment, «Expendables 4,» reunites iconic stars such as Stallone, Statham, Randy Couture, and Dolph Lundgren, while introducing new additions like Megan Fox and Curtis «50 Cent» Jackson into the mix. Directed by Scott Waugh, the movie plunges this group of battle-hardened mercenaries into a mission fraught with Russian operatives and nuclear warheads. Although the film came with a hefty $100 million production price tag, it is expected to perform well in international markets, similar to its predecessors. 'Expend4bles', a Lionsgate release, has been rated R by the Motion Picture Association “for strong/bloody violence throughout, language and sexual material.” Running time: 103 minutes.

UK recession risk grows as firms cut staff at sharp pace
Bank of England's decision to halt interest rate increases for the first time in almost two years. S&P Global's composite Purchasing Managers' Index slipped to 46.8 in September from 48.6 the month before, the sharpest decline in output since January 2021 when the UK was in lockdown. The reading was worse than economists expected and plunged the private sector deeper into contraction territory. The survey was cited in the BOE's decision to hold interest rates at 5.25% as evidence that Britain's already sputtering economy was weakening. The central bank had an early look at the indicator before its decision, which economist said may indicate that borrowing costs have peaked for now. The PMI adds to a growing list of indicators that point to a lackluster second half of the year for the economy. Retail sales data also out Friday showing a smaller-than-expected bounce back in August. That suggests retail may be a drag on gross domestic product figures for the third quarter unless September delivers a big bounce higher. S&P also said there had been an “abrupt turnaround” in the jobs market, with staff cuts the fastest since October 2009, excluding lockdowns during the pandemic.

Rice, cane lift acreage of kharif sowing past 2022 level
Crisil Market Intelligence and Analytics.“Farmers this kharif are expected to witness a decline in yields across key crops like paddy, cotton, maize and pulses. Considering the sowing and yield situation and market conditions, we expect paddy prices to remain elevated on-year, whereas pulse prices are expected to rise significantly on a high base due to anticipated lower output on year," Sharma said. The sowing of coarse cereals went up 2.3% year-on-year to 18.6 mh.

Are We in for a Repeat of the 70s Inflation Nightmare?
The hit TV series “That 70s Show” aired from 1998 to 2006 and focused on six teenage friends living in Wisconsin in the late 70s. The irony was that the actors playing the teenagers were not born in the late 70s and had never experienced life during that period. Many alive today cannot fathom a lifestyle devoid of the internet, cable television, mobile phones, and social media. Oh…the horrors.
